@pony I read a study somewhere a while back stating that 90+% of those who commit gang crimes are involved with marijuana while a significantly lower percentage of individual criminals are involved with it. I believe it's the fact that it takes away your sense of reasoning. It's the reason alot of professional athletes and stuff use it.

@abigpony Also, I don't remember the source or legitimcy, but knowing what pot does to your mind, the higher percentages seem likely in that scenario. Maybe not that drastic, but definitely higher.

@pony A well-educated public makes well-educated social decisions. I think the best decision for pot would be to legalize it and tax it like tobacco, reducing it's potency slowly over time. The only problem I see is, if it does turn out to be too bad, we won't be able to take it back due to the likely mass addiction we'd have. At least that's what I predict. Just legalize it. Keeping it illegal only causes the government to lose money and tax other things more.

@pony marijuana is way healthier than alcohol. It's proven. If it's legalized then it will be taxed and be of very poor quality. That's a bad idea. Keep it illegal but decriminalize it. Like here in Canada

@pony Well the thing is that they DO effect people, but they aren't drastic or even noticeable sometimes unless taken in larger amounts. that cadence guy or whatever suggested perhaps setting a legal limit. Though that would be hard to measure, if it was possible, it seems like a decent idea. Sure it effects people, but so do alcohol and tobacco. We lose money by fighting it and it only makes financial sense to legalize it and reap the benefits.

@pony nations live off it's citizen's pain and death. It's keeping the people oblivious to their own destruction that keeps them together. Tobacco? Alcohol? Only legal because so many people are addicted to them and they have so many dangerous side effects, the government can rake in money from the damages caused by them as well as the taxes from the helpless addicts in the first place.

@pony I believe in government for ad by the people, but then I realize how impossible that is. Prohibition would cause mass riots and stuff because people need their fix and I ddon't want that of course, but then I'm also a strong believer in violence as means of large-scale social change.

@abigpony I think it's healthy to interested. it's good to be proactive about our government, but I feel like we've come to expect rights without responsibility too often. Consequently, places like CA take away peoples' rights and tell everybody how to live their lives because the government there supposedly takes responsibility where the people abdicate it.

@pony Eh. CA is alright. We're trying to keep our state safe as the tourist state it is while trying to find a way to recover from our massive debt. I think CA's main problem is the channeling away from education. Education is a big thing, but we keep taking from it.
