                1. @woona i dont go hating people. So far, i've hated only an old portuguese teacher and the yellow guy from EqG ehehe. I'm just not social

                  1. @mushi hehehe. I can relate , cos I'm horribly shy and stuff it's hard to be social and I just prefer not to be. But I genuinely hate everyone where I live xD but you know , I'd like someone to cuddle with now and then ....

                    1. @woona well, i most likelly wont ever cuddle with anyone, but whatever. I do have a friend at the university now, but it took like 3 years for that to happen

        2. @woona My public school district was one of the most culturally diverse in the nation and my high school in particular was populated with generally wealthier families than average. The standards were set high there so when I went to a 2-year college I found it ridiculously easy. At the 2 year college enrollment was much more affordable so there were slackers and generally it was like my high school. Now at my university the workload is the same it was in high school (a poor comparison probably since my HS wasn't typical). The teachers at a private university like mine are much nicer and concerned about be. The students are really dedicated too. Everything Cerulean said is true.

      2. @cerooleanspark you'll probably know best, living close by and all .

Monday, 05-Aug-13 15:16:07 UTC from web
        1. @woona Which university are you off too? In my experience, university was a lot different to college, both in terms of the students AND the staff. The fact that people at university are there by choice, and in most cases, are paying a frankly lunatic quantity of money to do so really narrows the field. I did IT, and everyone was great. I got to know a lot of people, I never felt threatened or bullied or outcast or anything like that. The people studying your course will more than likely share a lot of interests with you, which will help you find common ground (In my case, the releases of Mass Effect 2 and Pokemon Soul Silver/Heart Gold were the major areas) You'll find the relationship between students and staff is a lot different too: The lecturers could not give a dole about anyone who isn't there to learn, so the do not pander to the lowest denominatior. The will /actually treat you with respect/ which was novel for me.

          1. @cerooleanspark cool, i study at a federal university, some of the staff isnt exactly what i'd call respectful

          2. @cerooleanspark I'm probably going to DMU, but I'm going to Nottingham if I get the grades . I'm wanting to study coding and computing stuff so both universities are /fantastic/. But that sounds great! I'm actually pretty relieved that I probably won't have to be such a recluse xD hopefully I can make my first friend irl xD where did you study?

Monday, 05-Aug-13 15:32:09 UTC from web
            1. @woona Northampton. If you come to DMU I'll have to come visit. You can come to the leicester meetups too if you want (Everyone who goes to them is lovely)

Monday, 05-Aug-13 15:36:01 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
              1. @cerooleanspark it'll probably be DMU so that'd be nice :) hopefully Im not so tremendously shy in a year or so xD and I'd love to meet up now but nerves and parents (mostly) stop me doing so ..

              2. @cerooleanspark is DMU far from you ?

                1. @woona Not very. 15 minutes on a train, or somewhat longer by car.

Monday, 05-Aug-13 15:42:32 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
                2. @woona But don't even worry about that. I drive much further than that to visit people all the time.

Monday, 05-Aug-13 15:43:48 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
                  1. @cerooleanspark and really nothing compares to the "2 hour car journey followed by 8 hour 3000 mile plane ride" I use to visit my girlfriend.
