@awwwlyra Many are either too stupid to understand that, or are smart enough to know they wouldn't get far because they suck.

I have 99 [b word plural] but a problem ain't one.
-
@nerthos *hits with garden hoe*
-
@nerthos why do you have 99 illegitimate children?
-
@komaeda Well now I have 99 hos and an open wound.
-
@nerthos I just can't argue with that logic.
-
@commodorecrazycommanderofthe1stroyalbrigadeofspiceracksandcheese When boyz n' gurlz go wild
-
@nerthos Why do you have so many bananas?
-
@nerthos they forget what happened last night.
-
@redenchilada Because I'm rich
-
@commodorecrazycommanderofthe1stroyalbrigadeofspiceracksandcheese Exactly! And that's why I have so many illegitimate sons, and yet I pay no manteinane to any of the mothers!
-
@nerthos Well, that's one way to raise up an army.
-
@commodorecrazycommanderofthe1stroyalbrigadeofspiceracksandcheese Fun fact: One of my friends tried to do that in a tabletop RPG. Problem is the sons hated him.
-
@nerthos well of course they did. They were abandoned by their father and then he wants them to die for him? That don't work without some really good incentive.
-
@nerthos I don't think drunk soldiers would make the best idea. Maybe money, power, and fame?
-
@commodorecrazycommanderofthe1stroyalbrigadeofspiceracksandcheese Well in modern times they don't. In a middle ages fantasy setting a horde of drunken pillagers is effective.
-
@nerthos let's get them hopped up on opium too. They won't feel a thing, at least until the drugs wear off.
-
@commodorecrazycommanderofthe1stroyalbrigadeofspiceracksandcheese An army of berserkers.
-
@nerthos unfeeling, barely thinking, killing machines.
-
@commodorecrazycommanderofthe1stroyalbrigadeofspiceracksandcheese unfeeling, barely thinking, poorly parented killing machines.
-
@nerthos with drug and alcohol addictions.
-
@commodorecrazycommanderofthe1stroyalbrigadeofspiceracksandcheese Well you gotta hold the leash in some way.
-
@nerthos That is a pretty good point.
-
@commodorecrazycommanderofthe1stroyalbrigadeofspiceracksandcheese Drugs are a great way of controlling masses.
-
@nerthos or you could contrive a monarchy, fake a democracy, false militant coup d'état followed by a self led rebellion that makes you the hero of the people, the list goes on.
-
@commodorecrazycommanderofthe1stroyalbrigadeofspiceracksandcheese I'm prone to meritocracy, but a monarchy wouldn't be bad. That'd allow me to build a masked meritocracy of my own by granting titles based on accomplishments. Of course it'd all crash once I die but it wouldn't affect me at that point.
-
@nerthos that's why the hero of the people thing is so good, if you do it right, you can pull just about any string you want.
-
@awwwlyra As would most people who would be in a decent place on the pyramid. Most of those who oppose the idea are the people who would place themselves in the lower levels of it.
-
@commodorecrazycommanderofthe1stroyalbrigadeofspiceracksandcheese Yep. That's the sort of thing I want an opportunity to do, actually. The country I live in (well, most countries really) needs a culling of the political machine.
