@rancidrob Google tells me South Dakota allows a "minor's permit" at 14 that allows driving in daylight hours with nothing but "parental permission" needed.

@scoot Also yeah the driving thing but that's less important to me because everything is within walking distance here.

@scoot My school forces me to take Driver's Ed and that's really the only reason why I know that apparently fire hydrants are the world's most dangerous safety hazard.

@scoot One of the driver's Ed teachers was fired last year for showing up to school drunk and the other one is dead, so I have NO idea who's teaching it this year.

@redenchilada Wow at 14 I was definitely not smart enough to operate a vehicle or take on literally any responsibility whatsoever. I wonder how many crashes those states have compared to others

@rancidrob Also hardship licenses are a thing in some states. I know both Texas and Tennessee have them. They're hard to get though and only allow driving to specific locations in daylight hours.
