  1. @critialcloudkicker I thought it was, but it turns out that was for a tabletop game instead. Look up Battleship Galaxies.

  2. @critialcloudkicker Is it true they attach rockets to the (aquatic) ships and fly them into space, or was that just for the toyline?

  4. @critialcloudkicker same but in my experience when a girl wants to watch a film she doesn't want to laugh unless it's a purposeful comedy

  5. @critialcloudkicker Well... At least you can take that as leverage to force her to watch an unwatchable movie you like.

  11. For the record, @critialcloudkicker, the fact that I live in the US doesn't mean I condone everything the US does or did and it doesn't exclude me from criticizing aspects of world politics. That's like me saying that I think you shouldn't be allowed to own land because the Dutch kept getting kicked out of their own colonies by the English and Portuguese.

  14. @critialcloudkicker any treaty that ties a country's hands when it comes to calling out a member state for atrocities. If Turkey wasn't in NATO we would have condemned Erdogan a long time ago.

  15. @critialcloudkicker I don't know of all of the details, but I can't say I would be surprised by a coup d'etat against Erdogan, a budding Islamist despot.

  18. @critialcloudkicker The military is claiming they want to restore democracy and secularism to Turkey. If they can overthrow Erdogan with minimal loss of life this is good.

  26. @critialcloudkicker There are hundreds of fantastic comics out there (as any other piece of media). At the moment I enjoy "Tomboy" by Mia Goodwin (Vol 1 ISBN 978-1632291301 (mature)). It's about a 16-year old girl that takes revenge on the responsibles of her boyfriend's death. "Paper Girls" (Vol 1 ISBN 978-1632156747) is also quite good but it may be too confusing and creates more mysteries than it answers, like LOST. Maybe Darkwing Duck is something for you (Omnibus ISBN 978-1926516042). I highly enjoyed that and it retains the excellent writing and humor of the TV show. It weights about 400 pages and it's heavy but relatively cheap to buy it new (about 25€). Currently there is a new Darkwing Duck comic series and it continues to be fantastic.

  29. @critialcloudkicker @acuteanniemay Jacobin is not incapable of making good articles I just found this unconvincing. There are really obvious Marxist critiques of Pokémon but on the ground the game is creating more prosocial behavior and as of yet the manipulation is minimal.
