@critialcloudkicker In the last few days the internet exploded because of a poorly photographed blue/black dress. Some people perceived the colors as white/gold because of the poor image quality. There is even an xkcd comic about that http://xkcd.com/1492/ .

@critialcloudkicker Here comes the group pressure into the play. It depends on how much you like your friends and like the raid grind. Personally I don't think it's worth paying about 11-13€ a month for a grind fest and a huge time investment. I've heard that some instances and raids can take up half a day to complete. Well... I'm a singleplayer player and a retro game hoarder. Don't value my opinion too much.

@critialcloudkicker It was mostly an additional remark about the emotional aspect of the meta game. You can add the monthly fees and and the stuff I mentioned and get the Stockholm Syndrome package as a result. ;)

@critialcloudkicker The Stockholm Syndrome may apply. The documentation I saw also showed the emotional attatchment to the leveled-up character. They also showed the response of a player after deleting his character because of a bet (I guess, it was late) (it lead to tears). The player said that he was very sad because there were many memories attatched to that character and the player knew that it was silly because it is just a game but the player couldn't resist reacting differently.

@critialcloudkicker I've seen a documentary about WoW on public television late night and they claimed that the majority of players that still play this game use it to stay in contact with old friends or made friends there. Also the documentation made some interesting parallels to sports clubs about the organisation of guilds and raids. The documentation made an effort to display WoW to be beyond just a game (like that Blizzard hired economics experts to balance the item market system). It was quite interesting to watch but it didn't change my mind that WoW is a bad game.

@critialcloudkicker I don't know. He went quickly offline. It might be the aftereffect from an office prank he did two days ago. Someone got a new job somewhere else and the whole office did pranks on him. So the GM came up with plastering the office with Justin Bieber posters.
