@critialcloudkicker The game is a diablo-esque search for increasingly powerful loot. It just turned out that players found they could short-circuit the part of the game that takes effort (Exploring and shooting things) and still get their reward (Item drops). It's like those rats that pleasured themselves to death. People, particularly gamers, optimize for max reward/least effort, even at the cost of actually enjoying themselves.

@critialcloudkicker because Bungie hard-coded the server-region detection into the game, then promptly pushed an update to Europe that would only be compatible with the region 1 servers. The servers then promptly locked out the entire subcontinent because the disks they were using didn't match the region the updates had installed.

@critialcloudkicker I returned home and the wood is still laying around. I see that some kind of fungus creeped into the wood. I suspect that because there are heavy discolorations (right in the middle a white spot or the wood was darker).
