@critialcloudkicker Good morning man.
-
@critialcloudkicker Just think about it! Plotting master heists on Reddit, and using a worldwide crime organization to fight the friendzone.
-
@critialcloudkicker *is at closet* Yeah, um, just keep... going on about that... Yeah.... [squees internally].
-
@critialcloudkicker What?! NO! He caught my bluff! tries to crawl away* Mate! Don't do this! Look! DLC for the New CIV game! :O

@critialcloudkicker AHHH! A HEAD CRITIAL! ... This is actually comfortable. I think I will name you Kicker! :y *dies from cute*
-
@critialcloudkicker It was lost during evolution
-
@critialcloudkicker No, I got the point, I'm just a little amused is all.
-
@critialcloudkicker Why have you linked me this video, it doesn't make very much sense in any sort of context.
-
@critialcloudkicker Me too, bro
-
@critialcloudkicker You do realize that saying "it would not be unnoticeable" and then saying "it might be negligible" right afterward contradicts yourself completely? The word "negligible" essentially means "unnoticeable", or at the very least so small that it's safe to ignore. In any case, I didn't say that Online took NO space, I said that taking it away wouldn't make the game a whole lot smaller.
-
@critialcloudkicker So, just to clarify, you just said "the difference would be noticeable but it would be negligible"
-
@critialcloudkicker the game wouldn't be much thinner if Online were not present. It's not like they completely take you to a new map, generate hundreds of new cars, use hundreds of completely new character models, and discard all weapons and sound effects from the main game.
-
@critialcloudkicker The main game itself WAS created with online in mind.
-
@critialcloudkicker GTA Online should not contribute to the larger size, considering it's included with the previous generation version of the game as well.
-
@critialcloudkicker Yeah, but it uses the same models and environments as the single player (IE, the entire city and everything in it). There's at least 5 DLCs with new vehicles and missions so far.
-
@critialcloudkicker They have you install the first disc to your hard drive and then the Xbox reads the rest of the data off the second.
-
@critialcloudkicker I'd assume that GTA V is 16GB, given that the Xbox version came on two 8GB discs.
-
@critialcloudkicker But why do games need to be 40+GB? Hell, the best commercial game I've played in years was a 500MB download.
-
@critialcloudkicker No til the release of Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
-
@critialcloudkicker i need to write one of these things http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/798005
-
@critialcloudkicker we kept that PC untill 2009 because it was it it died forever. Before that my fater refused to get a new one or sending that one to maintence because he doesnt believe that computers have different capacities. But i dont really mind, that PC was never for gaming
-
@critialcloudkicker True. XD I suppose I didn't really think that one through.
-
@critialcloudkicker It may have started as a niche hobby, but designing for it like it's a niche hobby and not attempting to appeal to mainstream audiences would be a very bad thing to do. If you want a reason why, look at the comic industry; it did such a thing for a really long time and now comparitively few people outside of the hardcore crowd even touch them.
-
@critialcloudkicker You are missing the point like a level 1 Fallout character misses a rat. There's literally no way any computer with an average disk space of less than 500GB could run that game. That is absolutely irrelevant to wether or not it's a lot of space for a single game, in the same way that "affordable" and "reasonable priced" are completely unrelated concepts.
-
@critialcloudkicker There's a difference between games increasing in size and games being flat-out wasteful with space. I only brought up the old computer's hard drive as a comparison, and the fact regardless is that 40GB is too much hard drive space to dedicate to a single product, when my 600GB hard drive has to also fit a number of other things onto it. It's also difficult to download such a hefty program; in comparison, GW2 is less than half of that size and still took me multiple days to download on my 50Mb connection (when you consider I can't leave the downloader running 24/7 with other people in the house). And saying "it's a moot point because I spend lots of money on computers" is a terrible excuse for an argument, because games aren't designed as a niche hobby solely for nerds, and some accomodations need to be made for the more casual crowd who isn't going to spend hours tinkering their machines to play a game.
-
@critialcloudkicker I have over 2TB of disk space, that still doesn't mean 40GB isn't a lot. Having a million dollars doesn't make a $100 hamburger not expensive.
-
@critialcloudkicker 40GB is the entire hard drive space of the last computer I owned.
-
@critialcloudkicker Compared to the average 8GB? it's massive.
-
@critialcloudkicker The world is properly sized. The size in GB of the game is impractical, as it takes a while to download and eats up a sizable chunk of disk space. Wouldn't be an issue with physical distribution but since it's mostly digital... yeah.
