  1. CAD 3D modeling is a apple but it's still easier than to model with meshes.

    • I bought a laptop mouse that is almost silent. At first it was weird not to hear a high-pitched click but not having it is refreshing.

      • @adiwan I can never bring myself to purchasing consoles, but when I do, it's always right before the new one is announced. Every time, I jinx it every single time.

      • @oracle Just have more patience. I wait a few years after a console was released and buy its predecessor. It's the sweet spot for having a console in good condition, getting a few games bundled in, a low price, and a lot of people trying to get rid of their machine for a new one. I miss the hype and the excitement of new releases but I rather have other people having their good/bad experiences with games first and I pick them up later.

    • I printed my first model that I modeled myself. It's a case for an Arduino Mega with a TFT shield. And of course I measured it wrong and it's 1mm too short. I'm looking into salvaging this or printing it again. I don't want to waste my print but I'm strongly considering doing it again.

    • After 12 years I've retired my laptop mouse. It kept double-clicking instead of single-clicking and it got really annoying. I've opened it up but the mechanical parts are so much out of whack that I'm not bothered to attempt to repair it.

      • @adiwan 3D print a replacement.

about 13 days ago in context
      • @scribus I would if I knew what to replace it with. The mouse still "works" but that constant double-clicking is super annoying. Whenever I have the nerves to try to fix it I'll certainly try to 3d print a replacement (if needed). So far I 3d printed a small cover for the 3d printer, a Vive controller stand, a miniature holder for painting, and a watch stand for my father. So far I broke my miniature holder's thread rod and I had to glue the bottle cap part to the grip part (I don't intend to use the vice thing for larger minis anyway), the Vive controller stand's cable slot is way too narrow and the USB cable plug holder is too small for my cables, and the 3d printer cover has a hole not at the right place. Only the watch stand my father uses is flawless (except for 4 misprints because of my fault that were caught very early). I have to learn a lot before I print perfect parts.

    • I booked a hotel in Berlin and the hotel spammed my email inbox with special promotions. Upon unsubscribing to their newsletter (which I never explicitly agreeing to it) a JS popup appeared for registering to the newsletter. What the heck!?!

    • I'm trying to learn how to use a 3D CAD program. I want to create an enclosure for a temperature/humidity display and sensor first. It's just a box with a a few holes. What can go wrong?
