  3. I have a vaguely working prototype of my Vinyl Scratch WinAmp skin, but it seems that WinAmp's animation support is just really, really bad. Even after forcing the animation layer to realtime, the animation is still really choppy. || I'm open to the possibility that I just suck and did something wrong, but I cannot for the life of me find any good examples of animated WinAmp skins ANYWHERE, so I have nothing against which to form a comparison.

  4. Studying WinAmp skin technology in the hopes of making an animated Vinyl Scratch skin. I expect to have a working prototype by the end of the week, and a full, finished version some time between the releases of HL2:EP3 and Black Mesa Source

  6. @administrator Last time I tried to install ubuntu on a non-virtual PC, it ended up nuking the MBRs of three of my four hard drives. I still have no idea what the hell that was about, because that seriously should not even be POSSIBLE. I wouldn't even believe it if it hadn't actually happened to me.

  7. @administrator I used to hang out in an IRC channel for a website, where, whenever someone registered, the admin's assistant bot would spout out the new user's account details, including their password's MD5 hash. He'd been at it so long that he actually had the hashes for "12345", "password", and "bananas" memorized (and moderated their users on sight until they came up with a better password).

  9. @puzzlemint And before anyone suggest looking into a better ISP: There aren't any where I live. The only alternative, barring paying through the nose for a T3 line, is DSL, which is a pretty big step down from my current cable package.

  10. @administrator My ISP has an upload cap, and I have, to date, received no less than seven separate warnings for excessive uploading, so I'm afraid I won't be able to help with seeding. Nevertheless, I'll give it a download and keep a few copies in safe places, just in case.

  17. @rotation I have Opera for testing cross-browser compatibility of web pages. Opera's tab stacking is very different from Firefox's tab groups, and there really, REALLY is no contest regarding which I prefer.

  18. God I wish Firefox had a bookmark sidebar with drag-and-drop support in Panorama View. That would basically make it perfect.

  21. @administrator I was talking about status.rainbowdash.net. thenightly.org/pony.html has even more errors! (which I won't actually bother to go through)

  22. @administrator Y'all forgot to include a !DOCTYPE. Since you're trying to use <script> without a type="" attribute, I'm assuming it's supposed to be HTML5, in which case it would just be <!DOCTYPE HTML>. Also, your image is missing the required alt="" attribute. In other news, I should probably turn off my HTML validator add-on when I'm not actually working on HTML that needs to be validated.

  25. @fluttergui The funny thing is, my mother (who is the real politically-minded person in the family), after voting Conservative, said she "would have loved to vote NDP, but it would just be a waste of a vote". (which is technically true, since we live in rural Alberta and the Conservatives were going to win here anyways).

  26. @extremedash Federal election. Conservatives won a majority government.

  27. 65% voter turnout at my polling station. I guess people really want to make sure we don't get stuck with a minority government again.

  28. Up at some ungodly hour and off to work the election. Keeping democracy safe from Canadians by crossing names off a list! || I just want everyone to be very clear on this point: You only get to vote ONCE. You vote, I cross out your name, that's it, you're done, go home.
