@redenchilada Honestly, yeah. I mean they feel excluded, right? Everyone's having so much fun and forming communities and in-jokes with this New Big Thing, so if they can't be a part of it their next response to be bitter about it.
-
@redenchilada Splatoon's kinda funny in that there have been people very passionately frustrated at it despite having not even played it because such is a popular knee-jerk response to anything that gets really popular really quickly

@redenchilada See, for me while the added mobility of the machine gun is really convenient generally when I'm doing a run where I go for the good ending I grab the Spur instead since it's an absolute boss killer. The damage on it is incredible and you don't have to worry about it leveling down, so it's my favourite for later in the game.

@redenchilada Also worth asking, what weapon did you trade your Polar Star for?
-
@redenchilada As I said, your evaluative priorities going into that section will definitely affect your experience with it. Though as far as game construction is concerned I think the Sacred Grounds is actually really well put together, it's an incredibly tight and fast paced culmination of effectively everything you've learned through exposure up until that point in the game. A sort of final-exam of level design before giving you an even greater challenge in the form of Ballos, only to result in the ultimate victory for both you and the characters involved.
-
@redenchilada I guess for me it worked on an artistic/narrative level so I appreciated it. Your mileage with it will likely depend on how invested you are in the game and how good you are with its mechanics.
-
@redenchilada It would probably curb the difficulty more, but I think part of the monumental tension of that entire portion of the game comes from its lack of a save point and by extension its penalty of failure.

@redenchilada Aww :(
