  2. @jla Kid doesn't know what a personal timeline is, though. The general inclination toward the public timeline on this community leads to a large portion of the site flat-out ignoring federation. :/

  3. @jla It's actually temporal. Downvoting content over a certain age has no effect on the users total karma score. I don't really care about karma as a value, I just think it's hilariously petty that they'd do that AND THEN tell me.

  11. @jla That's somewhat deeper than my arguments, but clearly shows some of my fears. Thanks for that link.

  14. @jla Interesting read, though definitely the least frightening future-view I've seen so far (then again, as a vegetarian, it is logical to not fear the idea of not being able to eat meat :P)

  17. @jla I realise I said "external player" which is a bit vague. I meant a portable audio player: http://is.gd/yYgl5y

  18. @jla Yeah, that's what I've got as well. But then I need to synchronise that with my sansa clip mobile player which is mounted over USB.

  21. @jla ... hence the need for a podcast client on my computer. I then sync the files to my player with unison :-)

  22. @jla I've got a smartphone, but I prefer to listen to podcasts from a separate player anyway (sansa clip+ w/ rockbox).

  30. @jla I'm a student to, and it's not even an option in my program. There's a CompSci major I know who works that way though, and it really looks like a pain.
