!EqDawn -- Our plan has been upgraded. We now have twice as much storage space, and 25% more RAM! Unfortunately, this probably won't do anything for the recent lag-spikes, but our hosts have assured me that they are working to resolve the issue, as it has been reported by other customers as well.

Got word back on the !EqDawn server load -- they're not yet sure what's causing it, but they've had other reports and are looking into it. If all else fails, we can switch to a different machine from the same hosts. @spectrumflash

More importantly, !EqDawn Discord has returned as part of a two week event. Current player turnout (just online connections, not necessarily player-unique or attending the event): "There are 57 players connected."

@cabal I wouldn't say so. When it started, it seemed centered on /co/, which was 99.9% anonymous. That's not a community in my mind as there are no individuals. Nobody knew anybody else, and it was pure pony discussion, but that was it. Eventually, things developed - RDN, fimchan, ponibooru, !EqDawn, Synchtube, the whole scene. Many of these weren't anonymous; people picked handles, came to know each other. Friendships developed, but tensions also did. Not everyone gets along with everyone else. But that is part of a community. To keep it relatively short, I'd say that from the beginning, we've *gained* a sense of community more than lost it; just because it's not easy doesn't mean it's bad. But what the hell do I know?

These recent rumors (which won't be discussed here) have caused far more drama, discussion, consideration, and unexpected swearing out of generally mild ponies than leaks ever have. #EqDawn (Future me, check the timestamp against ponyleaks.)

@retl !EqDawn Who got the equestriandawn.com domain again? I've been thinking, if there's a .com now we may as well look into moving the MUSH (hopefully for the last time, right?) onto it. Also, I tried posting a new topic in the forum, I got a "You may not add the following tags to taxonomy_forums: 4" error in both Chromium and Firefox. Maybe I should just sleep. -_- Eyes. Not. Want. Be. Open. . . Good thing I can more or less type without looking.

#EqDawn has changed a lot since I first joined. I'm frankly not even sure if I belong there anymore. I'd feel weird abandoning it now, but most of the other early members I used to play with the most have either blipped out of existence or don't really say much to me anymore. But maybe I'm just not being forward enough.

!EqDawn - The scheduled downtime has been re-scheduled for 7:00 PM Eastern. It is still expected to last 15 minutes, and the MUSH should still be back online automatically.

!EqDawn - Update on the server downtime! Here's the paragraph exactly as it was eMailed to me: "We will be performing server maintenance on Thursday, October 27th at 12PM Eastern Time. The expected downtime is approximately 15 minutes." The MUSH should auto-restart as soon as the server is back online.

!EqDawn - The update was . . . mostly successful. There appears to be viewing problems again, and ANSI is dodgy, but it looks like the databases were successfully carried over, and the code is running. I'm looking into getting the finer points fixed, but we may need to wait until the Wizard who set them up is available. I apologize for the inconvenience.

!EqDawn - I have suffered a semi-severe computer setback, and will have to postpone the server update. Currently aiming for 0100 AM Wednesday morning. Time will tell; I'll keep you posted.

!EqDawn - Monday, October 17th at 0100 AM Pacific the server will be updated to the latest version of PennMUSH. It will be unavailable for play at that time. I'm not sure how long it will take; hopefully less than an hour. Ideally, much less than an hour. Further information will be available on the blog and RDN. Thank you.

!EqDawn I just coded up a +weathercommand object. Not really sure how/who to submit it for checking before having it made global. (Do we have a designated wizard for that?)

@scribuskrueger #EqDawn I'd like to have Myrddin's BBS installed to the MUSH. I've already run through it on my own local test server and have a good idea of how to do it (It's pretty much automatic, actually. Most of the info is listed on the site, along with helpfiles on how to setup auto-refresh and the posting groups) but it requires somepony with a wizard bit to install and configure. Funfact: Sethisto, Purpletinker, and Roygbiv all have !eqdawn player ponies in the Database. However. For one reason or another, they appear to be abandoned.

@scribuscooper #eqdawn Twilight wanted to set up a forums, so I got off my lazy butt and set up some and made her the admin. http://equestriandawn.retl.info/ I had a player ask: <General> Spin the Wheel of Fun! HobbyNobby says, "So how much longer until the forum is, y'know, mentioned anywhere on the blog or MUSH news or something? :V" So I thought it'd be a good idea to send a message and ask since I already had the window up.

@thelastgherkin So-so. I'm thinking I'm either gonna take a bit to play #Disgaea4 or draw, then make some flash cards for my class tomorrow. Listen around on the chat on #EqDawn. Mostly the usual. I've got some older sketches I left half-finished more than half a year ago that looked pretty cool, so it might be a good time to revisit some of those.
