  1. @techdisk For the CDs I do own I currently use my father's home theater system, and it sounds gorgeous.

  2. @techdisk Yeah, there are a few good speakers I could potentially recommend. Wharfedale and Klipsch immediately come to mind as far as quality brands are concerned.

  3. @techdisk (Not I'm saying you should go there or anything, but if you ever, for whatever reason, want to buy a vinyl, that place gets my recommendation)

  4. @techdisk No kidding, even the best file is worthless if you're listening to it on lousy gear. Of course, having a trained ear always helps too.

  5. @techdisk My favourite shop in the downtown Toronto area is one called "Sonic Boom". It's near Honest Eds, you can't miss it. Really huge selection of records there, I always find something interesting.

  6. @techdisk At the end of the day, as long as it's not a low quality crappy bitrate it's fine, if I love a record enough that I want to listen to it in its fullest form I'll just buy the vinyl for it.

  7. @techdisk (though I do have some specific songs that I really like in FLAC on there.)

  8. @techdisk No, but I usually play my digital music on mp3 players so prefer using mp3s, and v0 is the highest standard for variable bitrate.

  9. @techdisk I usually prefer V0 mp3s these days but if I get an album in a FLAC format it's not a big deal, I can convert too.

  15. @techdisk Yeah, a few of the monitors at my school are like this. Not a whole lot of them. They ordered new computers recently but no monitors to go with them, so we've got brand new i3 desktops with old Dell monitors from the early 2000s.

  18. @techdisk alright, so right now the piece i'm trying to put in is the inner part of the plastic, not the whole part itself. my issue is that it won't fit into the bigger part because of two little tabs jutting out. there are little indentations for those tabs, but i can only fit one in at a time.

  19. @techdisk yeah that's the piece i'm trying to slot in, and it just won't even fit anymore which is super weird

  21. @techdisk (it's why I never remove any keyboard keys that are physically wider than a letter key. It never turns out well.)

  22. @techdisk No, yeah, I'm aware of the metal bar. My issue is one of the little plastic pieces which WON'T GO INTO ITS STUPID SLOT.

  23. @techdisk It's the gold part that's snapped. More or less on top of the pin that attaches it to the blue wrist. I've already glued it on once this afternoon, but it snapped again because it's such a tight joint where the gold meets the red of the shoulder.
