  1. For the people who care about federation (Probably just @nerthos and @awl) I have no idea why it isn’t working. This is actually a new server, at a new hosting provider and a functionally fresh install of RDN’s version of statusnet. So unless DigitalOcean, Cloudflare, or the other instances themselves are blocking us (or them), there’s no particular reason why it *shouldn’t* work.

  2. @awl "Steering column shift tube assembly" seems to be the official name for it.

  4. @tiff @awl So it's recommended, then?

  5. @awl That tends to be how I think, too.

  6. @awl It wasn't terrible, really. I found it disappointingly mediocre. One of those "I'd like it better if it was bad enough to laugh at" things. More of the same, more or less. And now I'm wondering if it would be worse to say a film sucked or a film was pointless...

  7. @awl I've never watched anything Boondocks but I should

  8. @awl No, probably not. I was under the impression that only broke if you changed the site's name or URL schema. We've moved a bunch of times before without it breaking before.

  9. @awl I think federation is an # exclusive.

  10. @awl It really comes down to whether you would rather have a potentially incompetent asshole in the position, or have NOBODY in the position and essentially guarantee that all of our current problems escalate.

  12. @awl I've always seen his movies as the cinematic version of tracing. If every shot is some kind of homage, what is he, himself, actually doing?

  13. @awl Word.

  14. @awl Seems nice enough on the internet. And from my angle, it's a familiar ocean but further from the godrotten equator.

  15. @awl In fairness, they probably only got half of it. I'd already made sandwiches for today, had some toast for breakfast over the weekend. But I still woke up to far less bread than when I went to sleep.

  16. @awl Well the day started with the discovery that my roommates had eaten almost all of my new loaf of bread... Fortunately I did have enough for breakfast and had already made lunch last night.

  17. @awl mangoin libtard... unbelievable... I bet you hang out with Anita Sarkeesian... who doesn’t believe in an ethnostate, what a gross leftist way of thinking

  18. @awl I just looked up at a German car-dealing website, on which people can offer their car for sale, and found out that about 37% of all cars there are automatic. I thought this number would be lower.

  27. @scribus @awl The making of MREs is contracted out so the only ones that are govt. property are ones that the DOD buys. Kinda like how you can buy cans and compasses straight from the manufacturer.

  28. @awl I think the thing is they're supposed to be illegal to sell because they're gov't property, but surplus gets around that?
