@cabal nah

@cabal I wouldn't say so. When it started, it seemed centered on /co/, which was 99.9% anonymous. That's not a community in my mind as there are no individuals. Nobody knew anybody else, and it was pure pony discussion, but that was it. Eventually, things developed - RDN, fimchan, ponibooru, !EqDawn, Synchtube, the whole scene. Many of these weren't anonymous; people picked handles, came to know each other. Friendships developed, but tensions also did. Not everyone gets along with everyone else. But that is part of a community. To keep it relatively short, I'd say that from the beginning, we've *gained* a sense of community more than lost it; just because it's not easy doesn't mean it's bad. But what the hell do I know?
-
@cabal Hm. Between here, the Facebook Brony group I'm in, and the Ohio Forum I'm quite enjoying it, and the sense of community is still pretty high (Although, I'll admit RDN is the lowest of the three).
-
@cabal Not this again... We've had our ups and downs over the past months, but as a whole we are still strong. Even if we have slid, there's still more community here than a hay of a lot of other places. It's a new year, and it's time to stop looking back at how "everything used to be better" for the hundredth time and look upward and onward.

@cabal I couldn't agree more to be honest.

@cabal Think? More like we know.

@cabal Rage indeed xD I mostly work insid the town, though. There was an increase of the sales of computers in the last years here.
-
@cabal Certainly the fact that most try to avoid sites like 4chan is true, but lots of forums and places like yahoo answers, that most users check are full of guys who think they know what they're typing, but don't have a real knowledge over the matter.
-
@cabal I'm at ~35 miles from the capital of the country, but still, the need for technicians is somewhat high. Decreasing a little, yes, but still a problem that comes with cloud computing and internet, is that there's abundance of information. That means virtually anyone could find a guide to fix most problems, but it means too that lots of wrong or "troll" to call it like that, information is available too. And only people with a certain degree of knowledge is able to distinguish a legit guide from something written by someone misinformed or trolling, so there will be an increase of the demand for that reason, people ruining their computers when following internet information.
-
@cabal But just on a porfessional environment. Maybe a little lack of employement could come, but the average user would still need them.
-
@cabal Are you on something, man?
-
@cabal If I may state my opinion on the matter, no. most people even with the information and resources to repair things, manage to mess up by clumsyness, ignorance, fear, or bad luck. So even with cloud computing, there's need for technicians.
-
@cabal So, when you say 'confirmed for BroNYCon' , you mean you are going?
