            • @normandy I'd just like to interject for moment. What you're refering to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called Linux, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

            • @ceruleanspark @normandy I don't type GNU/Linux mainly becase I'm lazy (and also because Burce Sterling, put me off saying GNU in 2006 ". I used to complain that GNU had the wrong name, because the recursive name for GNU is GNU’s Not Unix. And I describe that as rather childish, because you should not name yourself in opposition to something else, you should have your own name. It’s like, if GNU’s not Unix, what is it?" ... Go find his SXSW speeches they are Airwolf). anyway I digress, just came to ask (GNU)Lunix mint or something else?

              • @mushi Biting, multifaceted satire. Is it merely a joke about things you'd never expect to hear them say? Is it a scathing retort to a culture that will so blatantly act in the interest of money over artistic merit? Is everything an outrage when properly de/contextualized?

                      • @illya @miki what I thought was more interesting was that thousands of people were making it into a race thing like "gotta kill an endangered animal to one white kid, thats white privilege in action" and then it turned out the kid was black and then it became "gorilla stolen from its home then killed when it turned on its captors, sounds familiar doesn't it" a batcaveing story about a kid falling into a zoo pit and theres all these people that just mentally turn every single thing that happens in the world into a narrative about white supremacy that completely bypasses the actual story.
