@foxgopher Worked on it last night making good progress. Today was long. I can't wait for tomrrow, @toolmanhamm and I are gonna meet up. Also a little worried, Supposed to be some very strong storms tomorrow night
-
@quilzel Thats awesome! I hope those storms don't get super bad. o.o
-
@quilzel hofaly thay ant 2 bad!
-
@foxgopher right in the middle of the pink area.... http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/day2otlk.html
-
@quilzel Oh geez. tornadoes maybe?
-
@quilzel Stay safe and weather it out, I guess.
-
@foxgopher Copy and paste from the national weather service: "CURRENT THINKING IS FOR ISOLATED TORNADIC SUPERCELLS WITH VERY LARGE HAIL TO FORM ALONG THE DRYLINE...AND TO PROCEED NEWD ACROSS THE HIGH RISK AREA LATE AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING. THEN...THE PACIFIC FRONT WILL MOVE IN FROM THE W...LIKELY RESULTING IN A SQUALL LINE CAPABLE OF DAMAGING WINDS WITH EMBEDDED AREAS OF ROTATION CAPABLE OF DAMAGE."
-
@eaglehooves Allready have a plan in place, with emergancy food and wataer supplies. Plan on taking my kindle and "reading it out". Thank you for the concern.
-
@foxgopher There's never tornadoes in Norwhay. probably due to the hilly mountainous regions :)
-
@quilzel Oh geez. I hope that doesn't happen.
-
@derpyshy Maybe. Maybe..
-
@quilzel does those things happen often In kansas? I hope you'll be alright, tough :)
-
@derpyshy Tornadoes can form over any terrain, even water, most likely reason for lack of tornadoes is cooler weather. It takes very special weather conditions for tornadoes to form
-
@quilzel I've heard that tornadoes need open space, in order to form. That might be why there's so many in this flat American places. I don't think a tornado has ever been in Norwhay... if it somehow should start to form, it'll probably hit a mountain, and stop.
-
@derpyshy Torandoes only form in the 'flat' part of America because of the warm moist air raising from the gulf of mexico and mixing with the cold dry air sinking from the north. Essentially we are just simply caught in the middle. A mountain will not stop a tornado. Kansas is not completely flat, there are quite a lot of hills actually. Also Colorado gets tornadoes all the time and it has a lot of mountains.
-
@quilzel interesting... but won't a steep mountain at least decrease the strenght of it?
-
@derpyshy maby but we just have hills
-
@quilzel There was even a tornado in So Cal, once, years ago. It lasted long enough to damage the roof of the building where it touched down, and was seen more as a curiosity than a threat. So I guess it was really more like an overblown dust devil...
-
@toolmanhamm ok
-
@derpyshy Although we currently don't know what causes a tornado to from, we do know how. Basically, the updraft of a thunder storm can sometimes rotate, As air is sucked into the updraft, sometimes the 'suction' is so strong that updraft of the storm, or the current of air moving up, will descend below the cloud line, the lower the this goes it usually 'tightens' up to form a funnel, and if it comes in contact with the ground it then becomes a tornado.
-
@derpyshy sorry i dint mean 2 b rude but in like that!:)
-
@scribus The town I live in got stuck by a tornado a couple of years ago, it took out a tree in the park, a year later, the town 8 miles to the east nearly got wiped off the map. 75% of down damaged or destroyed.
-
@toolmanhamm How long have you live in Kansas?
-
@toolmanhamm rude? That didn't seem rude...
-
@quilzel 21 years
-
@quilzel They're serious business. I think I like earthquakes better, myself.
-
@quilzel u?
-
@quilzel I agree on a central Kansas Meetup page as well since Kansas City is a bit far for me and probably several others to drive just for a few hours of activity.
-
@toolmanhamm @quilzel sry guys for not being aware of this possible meetup -_-' i have been very busy working not too many days off but with summer coming around i should be getting weekends off again, so maybe we could plan something. And either of you going to Bronycon?
-
@skillfulist Probably woun't have the time for BronyCon this year. Maybe next year though. It's cool you didn't have the time, @toolmanhamm and I are both students, we understand the whole lack of time thing. I usually have weekends off, if you want to hang out just let me know. I'm up for some coffee or a movie or something.
-
@skillfulist u on?
