Heck, even Jesus got ticked off sometimes!
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 03:43:40 UTC from web-
@dlcentaur He was a huge waste of divine power.
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 03:45:55 UTC from web-
@nerthos Say what what you want. Don't hate...appreciate. He's my Lord and Savior. If you want to know more about him, read the 4 Gospels, but unless you've read 'em, don't hate. Even if you have read them, don't hate xD
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 03:49:05 UTC from web-
@dlcentaur I'm not hating, I'm just saying that he could have done lots more with neigh unlimited power coming from his divine blood.
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 03:50:09 UTC from web-
@nerthos His torture, death, and resurrection were quite enough in my opinion. The troubles in life are trials, sort of like tests. If he eliminated the tests then how could we be given a chance to succeed or fail those tests? Jesus did a LOT of miracles, though. So many that not even the Bible could keep track of 'em. :)
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 03:52:42 UTC from web-
@dlcentaur You know, he could have wiped out evil from the very nature of the human being, to begin with. Or just turn his skin into steel and watch the romans try to nail him xD
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 03:53:55 UTC from web-
@nerthos Yeah he could have, but that wasn't the point of his coming.
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 03:56:18 UTC from web-
@silverbrony Doing what could help the whole species is never the point, right?
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 03:57:08 UTC from web-
@nerthos Actually no, that IS the point.

@silverbrony So when he comes he destroys everything? Epic, must still be a virgin if we are all here. http://ur1.ca/8sf0o
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 03:57:22 UTC from web-
@carcino Huh...? What are you referring to? I'm confused by your comment. :x
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 03:58:34 UTC from web-
@silverbrony Innocent fun.
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 03:58:55 UTC from web-
@carcino Wait, seriously, what did you mean by that? ._.
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:01:00 UTC from web-
@silverbrony Sigh. When he comes, like in a sensual sense.
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:01:55 UTC from web-
@carcino Oh... x.x Wrong spelling~ :P
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:06:30 UTC from web-
@silverbrony I've seen it spelled both ways.

@nerthos Believe it or not, the Jews and Roman's dared Jesus to save himself, but he didn't. The reason darkness couldn't be wiped out is not because the darkness was too powerful, it might have even have been the opposite. God is a just God, and because of that Sin (human/demon/ etc) MUST be paid for in some way. He can't just overlook sin or he wouldn't be just. Imagine a Judge simply forgetting a person's crime and letting them roam free. Some one MUST pay for sin (no exceptions xD)
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 03:57:16 UTC from web-
@dlcentaur Isn't it sadistic, though? Configuring the organic electronical machine that the human brain is, to tend towards "wrong" and then having a son, to send him to pay for the crimes of others? Isn't that convicting an innocent?
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:00:16 UTC from web-
@nerthos Jesus gave up himself to be sacrificed....willingly. The Bible does say that God did choose to spare us all and vent his wrath on Jesus. And so Jesus, being both 100% God (in spirit) and 100% man (in body) was condemned with all sin. And so, since the punishment for sin is death, he died. But death couldn't keep him down, so he rose again, having triumphed over Hell, Satan, death and Hades.
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:03:01 UTC from web-
@dlcentaur So, masochism is the solution?
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:03:58 UTC from web
-
-
@nerthos He did not configure our brain's to be drawn toward "wrong". Because of Adam and Eve we now have the knowledge of good and evil and are born into sin, thus that tendency. It was not meant to be that way. And about convicting an innocent, that's kind of the point. While Jesus took on the sins of the world for us he was, indeed, innocent. That sacrifice is part of what is so amazing about his love for us.
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:04:53 UTC from web-
@silverbrony Thank you for clarifying what I meant to say. I can't talk to everypony all at the same time xD
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:05:51 UTC from web -
@silverbrony But why did they got that knowledge? God, being omnipotent and such, could clearly see the outcome. For gods there's no time or probability, they know from start everything that will ever happen, and that's what makes them absolute. If Adam and Eve took the knowledge, it's because god desired so.
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:08:20 UTC from web-
@nerthos God knew what would happen, but Adam and Eve still had the choice to right or wrong. God was giving them a chance to succeed. Even if he knew they were going to fail, he gave mankind chance after chance after chance.
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:10:04 UTC from web-
@dlcentaur If he knew they would fail, then there was no real choice. The same way you can give a man five minutes of oxygen and say "if you run to that place before the oxygen runs out, you're free" but at top of his running capabilities, he can only get to that place in seven minutes.
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:12:32 UTC from web-
@nerthos Think about it this way: since we do not know the future our choices still have an immense impact. While God may know what will ultimately occur, he is not making the choices for us. It's kind of like a novel: He has read the entire story, but we're the characters in it. Our choices are still our own and we must put utmost care into it. Just because he knows the ending doesn't mean he wrote what we did.
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:17:36 UTC from web-
@silverbrony That's a very good way of putting it... Somehow this feels alot like the lengthy discussion about time we all had about a week ago...
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:18:49 UTC from web -
@silverbrony According to the classical belief, god CREATED humans, so yes, he did wrote it.
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:19:22 UTC from web-
@nerthos I don't want to start anything but can you tell me how evolution fits into religion that says God created humans?
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:20:40 UTC from web-
@bicmacpony55 I'm not going into a full-on discussion because I'm falling asleep and that is something I'm quite passionate about. Let me leave you with this tidbit: In order to believe in evolution you must believe that DNA can be added to. I'm not talking about mutations (changes that occurs within the DNA code), I'm talking about how a fish does not have the DNA for legs anywhere in it's DNA code, so for it to "evolve" into something with legs you must believe that extra DNA can be added. It is fact that this is impossible. I encourage anyone who really wants to know to research the subject.
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:27:05 UTC from web-
@silverbrony Well from what I learned in bio, which could be viewed as just as credible as any religion, the addition of legs to an organism is simple the CHANGING of a few bits of DNA, there doesn't need to be an addition. And while I'm at it did you know there are only about 12 differences between the DNA sequence of our brain and monkeys?
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:29:34 UTC from web-
@bicmacpony55 I did know that. AP bio ftw

@aeniug2 No offense, but that is a fallacy. If you really wanna know, do research. @bicmacpony55 Evolution is taught as fact in school. However if you research it you'll find that there is so much circular thinking and different things missing that it's appalling it is being taught such a way. Please, research it.

@silverbrony Honestly I find science to be far more complete then religion, also it's something I can actually physically do and use, that's just my opinion though
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:35:13 UTC from web -
@silverbrony And btw just saying "Research it" is a terrible argument, there's so much false stuff on the internet it's about as useful as what I'm being taught xD

@bicmacpony55 Except we can SEE DNA and we can OBSERVE the genes and stuff? How exactly is that as credible as religion?

@nerthos No, it's more like He came up with the characters. Don't take the metaphor literally. It IS a metaphor...
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:20:45 UTC from web -
@nerthos Here's another way to look at it. Imagine God created a world in which he intereacts with and upholds. This world isn't run entirely by him though. There are people who have free will that he appointed to rule this world. If these people choose evil, God won't stop them from doing what THEY want (though he does intercede and points many in the right direction) . If they choose Good, then God affirms them. :)
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:22:31 UTC from web-
@dlcentaur But by what equation does these creations of god choose good or evil? Is there any reason in it?

-
-
@silverbrony Well put.
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:19:28 UTC from web
-
-
@nerthos See, here is where if comes down to personal thoughts- God gives us all a choice, even if he knows we will fail. Simply put, if we fail, it is our fault for not seriously seeking him. If we succeed, then we are blessed in the next life, and cursed here (just because God's enemy, Satan (the Prince of this world) makes our life here painful.
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:17:43 UTC from web-
@dlcentaur But why does god allow his enemy free reign over his creation? Are you not supposed to protect your children from the threats you can face? If god is more powerful than satan, why don't he destroys it? Even then, satan being an ancient word for "adversary" it doesn't makes him actually bad, just the opposit of god. And according to christianity, satan was once Lucifer, best of his creations, and he punished him just for trying to better himself to the maximum point. Se we are damned for wanting to be more than we currently are?
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:23:37 UTC from web-
@nerthos God allows Satan to test us. God doesn't destroy Satan because Satan is 1. Still his creation 2. is one of the many parts of the test of life. If we honestly choose God, then we can bypass anything that Satan throws at us. God empowers people, he is not absent in the equation. God has plans to make us more than we could ever be alone. God is all good, but Satan is NOT all evil, though he comes pretty dang close...
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:27:35 UTC from web-
@dlcentaur That didn't answer most of my questions. If Satan is allowed to play with us because he's his creation too, then why does he let him be on the same plane, if he's damnation to us? It's like having a pool with a shark, and throw fish in it.
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:30:03 UTC from web-
@nerthos Satan is only an antagonist, he is not our major plague. Even without him, we would still choose to sin.

Saturday, 24-Mar-12 03:57:07 UTC from web-
@policeman 25 Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written. John 21:25 :D

@jimmyrustler btw the bible was COLLECTED into a canon 100 years after his death. Many scriptures and stories were recorded after his death; that with word of mouth and the stories changing in details caused some of the prime supporters of the faith to control it all by creating a set of rules which would determine which stories of Jesus were canon and which weren't. One of their rules was that it had to come from someone who directly interacted with jesus, which typically meant the apostles and their friends. Also, the stories collected had to be recorded within a certain time during or after his life iirc. All this stuff is in a wiki no doubt, but I researched all this when first learning about the dead sea scrolls.
Saturday, 24-Mar-12 04:28:05 UTC from web -
@jimmyrustler What I say doesn't necessarily prove or validate anything, I'm jsut saying it's a much more interesting story than what most people believe about the bible's origin and was very fun for me to learn
