  1. Mom finally started to settle in the place she's wanted to be for four years and now she's talking about moving back to Texas, except this time it'll be in neither the place she's happy with nor the place where I actually have friends. Whyyyyy.

    1. @redenchilada I've heard that "They" discovered a gene responsible for wanderlust.

    2. @redenchilada so she yearns to be this century's iteration of a nomad?

      1. @yawlo She hasn't been happy with where she's lived since I was in middle school. :(

        1. @redenchilada too bad she has to uproot your family every time. Have you told her that you don't like having to move so much?

          1. @yawlo I honestly wouldn't mind her moving back to Texas if it was at least to Austin where all my friends are. But moving to Houston just seems dumb. And I feel like her justification of "it'd be less of a hassle to visit my brothers" is underestimating how aggravated she'll get of dad if he can just easily come by at any moment. (Because while I really do like my dad, my mom... really doesn't.)

            1. @redenchilada if she has a well enough paying job i don't see why she'd move again other than of course wander-lust.

              1. @yawlo That's my thing. She has a great-paying job at a five-star nursing home (not to mention the insurance is top-notch) and she wants to just move again.

                1. @redenchilada if she has a good deal previous experience in the field it helps but places don't like when you have a lot of jobs spanning only a few months each.

    3. @redenchilada You could have avoided all this heartbreak by not making any friends in the first place, you know~

    4. @redenchilada I never kept the same home for more than 3 years before I got married at 25, but at least my mother managed to keep me in the same school district. Sounds rough for you. I hope it works out.
