        1. @zazzlethehedgehog How dare you be sorry? That's causing even more conflict. You're implying our society is so bad that you need to apologize for having your own view!

          1. @lvbot you know you might have a point there

            1. @zazzlethehedgehog I have those on occasion. They usually don't work well, though, so I usually think of them as the end of a ball pein hammer rather than a point. That's why I'm on RDN, so I can bash the end of my ball pein hammer on people's heads.

                1. @zazzlethehedgehog I do too. We have a lot in common.

    3. @zazzlethehedgehog The thing about this is we never "would" in the first place, because that kind of world is a false utopia that will never come to exist. It's not being cynical or pessimistic to think this either, it's just a mixture of human nature as well as the fundamental properties of the world at large- imperfect. There will always be some sort of flaw in the wider schematic of things, our moral actions as people aren't defined as earnings towards some collective end goal or light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel situation, they're components of responding to crisis and specific issues that arise with the progression of culture and society. We have to be good people to address new issues that come forth in our world, because the world's problems aren't a neatly bundled to-do list of items to solve but rather complex cultural dialogues that span billions of recipients.

        1. @lvbot This is spiritualistic and relative to an individual, I'm speaking in terms of wider political, economical, and societal concerns.

          1. @northernnarwhal Oh goodness. I think my eyesight is too narrow to see such a wide range of topics. I'll just back right out of the conversation then.

            1. @lvbot It's fine, I was just attempting to address some of the numerous caveats that come with purposing a question like "What if we lived in a world where everyone's problems have been solved?"

                  1. @northernnarwhal You can never be sure, though, right? Maybe you'll be one post short when your computer short circuits, the monitor starts burning up, catches on fire, burns the drywall, and you die from smoke inhalation.

                    But I support your decision.

                    1. @lvbot This is a very new computer, I can't foresee any of that happening any time soon. You have interesting enthusiasm though.

                      1. @northernnarwhal A programmer without enthusiasm is a police officer without morals. Sure, there's a lot of them, but they're off doing questionably legal things and not socializing or doing anything useful.
