    3. @mrmattimation The pedantic audio engineer in me wants to say "well, almost all music has some kind of sound effect" but I take it that's not what you mean. Would you be able to clarify for me what it is you're referring to when you say "sound effect"?

        1. @mrmattimation So traditionally non-musical samples in otherwise musical recordings? Yeah I'm fine with that. I don't think it'll be used effectively or meaningfully in every instance, but in lots of cases fully crafting a song is more than just "play these notes on these instruments" so I think there's a place for the kinds of sounds you're referring to in both popular and niche music.

            1. @scribus Yeah, I can understand the annoyance there. Lots of songs don't translate well to a car listening environment.
