Usually I put a book series in the shelf from right to left in ascending order. However these double-volume books have the annoying thing that the two volume numbers are side by side. So Right now the shelf looks like this: 7 + 8, 5 + 6, 3 + 4, 2 + 1. I think I'm the only one (member of the left-to-right-reading society) putting books in "reverse" order.

@adiwan I take it you dislike the "put them side by side in order to make a picture" kind of spines?

@scribus At first I wanted to say that these kind of spines are fine but then I remembered from my childhood how infuriating these are. I once collected Disney comics that are collected in books that are about the size of a manga (about 200 pages and the page size is about the same as a typical manga). It was not easy for me to get all books with a limited budget and in a pre-internet era. So I lived a long time with incomplete pictures staring at me like a Scrooge and Donald with hacked-up faces. Not only that but when I had a complete picture, due to the production inaccuracies, the picture didn't align perfectly (a 2mm offset!), which is infuriating in its own right. F those spines!!!

@adiwan Oh, silly idea. What if you turn them 180 degrees ? Sure they might read 8ㄥ9ϛㄣƐᄅƖ but they would be correctly ordered.

@drinkingpony Of course! And then I need to mount my shelves to my ceiling!
