  4. @firestormdangerdash so what you're saying is the incredibly low ratings has caused the writers to jump seven sharks trying to introduce new gimmicks, gotcha

  5. @firestormdangerdash hey man, just thought you should know, your horse show with Simpsons-level seasonal rot that averages two and a half viewers on the Nielsen scale per week isn’t gonna solve everyone’s real-world tangible issues

  6. @firestormdangerdash I'm fine with all of that, however the amount of new stuff both episodes have to introduce washes down the story and characters that have to be introduced, thus I think it's alright.

  8. @firestormdangerdash You probably liked a post that was originally posted by a Russian propaganda account and reblogged thousands of times. A lot of the offending material was seemingly innocuous but linked back to blogs that were created expressly to divide American voters with race baiting and whatnot.

  13. @firestormdangerdash Nowadays it's super easy to get there simply due to how few people there are around. Whenever I post from there I get a bunch of populars because 1-2 favs are enough.

  14. @firestormdangerdash You could make repeat bots on other sites I guess. I think some already did mirror accounts to get around cases where a site didn't federate with another.

  17. @firestormdangerdash Oh, yeah, you're probably looking at the local copy of the remote profile. The server automatically does it as a way to handle remote posts in an easier way by storing a copy of each post locally instead of pulling them from each server whenever an user wants to see them. That way, the new post is requested from its original server only once and can be viewed indefinitely locally, greatly reducing network load which is the most expensive part of hosting.

  18. @firestormdangerdash I don't really understand the question. You just follow someone from another node like I explained earlier and you succefully did with me. GNUsocial nodes even have a popup preview of users when you hover over their names with a follow button to automate the process.

  19. @nerthos @firestormdangerdash fzp is broken on spc

  20. @firestormdangerdash As I explained before, RDN can't federate with several nodes that SPC can. So by using SPC as main I can talk to both RDN people and SLC/FZP and some masto people that I couldn't talk to from over there. I migrated fully when federation with SLC and FZP broke completely over there.
As for a "remote follow profile" the service was meant to be used like this from the beginning, RDN was just self contained for most of its history unlike the rest of the sites using the software.

  21. @firestormdangerdash @awl click on my name, press "remote follow" on my SPC profile then when it asks what account you want to use to follow type "firestormdangerdash@rainbowdash.net" in there. It'll redirect you to a confirmation page on RDN.

  24. @firestormdangerdash Oh; he's on another instance in GNU/Social. We federate, but public timeline doesn't show notices from other instances unless you have the oldschool settings on.

  26. @firestormdangerdash RDN. Between that and the fact that it doesn't federate with half the people I talk to nowadays I only check in now and then.
