  1. @rawkz0rz !college Why is everyone here CS? XD That's my major too. Don't know what I want to do with it for a career though. I'm doing java so I'm sure someone will want to hire me mabye. :P I also want to learn AS so I can make flash games for fun on the side. I already have a list of 15+ game ideas, although some of them might be too intense for flash. XD

  2. !college Trying to pick out courses for the next two terms. Turns out Sophomores get second-lowest priority registration to Juniors. The problem being that I transferred in, so a lot of the courses I need in order to continue are getting promptly filled by freshmen who also need them before I even get a chance to pick. Not really sure what I can do about it though except hope I can do some of the full fall courses in the summer.

    • @retl Hopefully you can get in on courses; do you mean that you need Freshmen CS courses though? Or just general education/engineering requirements? Either way, try speaking with your advisor if you can - I had a friend in the same boat and he was able to get a bit higher on the pecking order for some pre-requisite courses after transferring.

  3. @rawkz0rz !college I have a passion for physics and mathematics, but i have always had a tendency to create characters and worlds that completely defy the physics that i love xD

    • !college How do you guys normally deal with college level English courses that require several essays? Do you guys do argumentative essays where you have to take a stance and defend it, or interpretive essays? Is there a trick to interpretive essays that I'm missing out on? I'm passing my Eng 1102 course right now, but having a lot of trouble making anything but papers that *I* don't even believe in, and have a C for the course so far. I know I have to do one more ESSAYS EVERYWHERE course before I can get back to the math/theory/analysis/coding portion of my CS degree, so if you guys have any tips, I'm open to them. (Unless you tell me to pay someone else to write the papers for me. I'll listen to the advice, but I would never use that particular tip.)

    • !College On a side note, someone should see if they can get a # club on campus or something. That'ld be cool if it worked out.

        • @haganbmj I'm a huge music goer myself, even though I'm not in college. I'm trying to get into more Synthpop music, since I find that I like a lot of it lately.

        • @magicrussia I've always been into music, it's just that I have so much more time that I spend with my headphones on now that I'm in a dorm. I walk pretty much everywhere with them on, and then sit most of the evening paging through music while I work. It's the reason my iTunes library has doubled in size to about 50gb :/ - Synthpop, hm - that's a bit of a tricky genre to find xD. On a different note though, my friends keep sending me K-Pop, which I find strange since none of them area actually Korean...

        • @haganbmj I pretty much carry music with me everywhere I go, too xD I miss my iTunes library though. My desktop crashed, 20GB of music with it. # I do loves me my Synthpop though; I enjoy Owl City, Lights, The Postal Service and My Little Airport. Hoping to get into more artists like these and some old school Synthpop bands like Duran Duran (who influenced Scissor Sisters, another of my favourite bands). and haha, the Asiaphile culture is pretty strong thanks to anime and the internet. I have a friend who lives off of K-Pop and J-Pop.

      • Wow. Finally got everything together for the English course I need before I can get started on my Engineering degree. Apparently the entire course consists of three assignments, four quizzes, and the final (which is all multiple choice). Don't hold me to this, but I might actually be able to handle it without any help. Hell, if my actual high school courses had been like this, I might have actually passed English the first time. !collegebronies

                  • @rainbowdash1911 Haha - meant to reply with more on the other one, but I was just on my iPod and it doesn't really like the StatusNet app. I do like dance music, though it really is a wide genre and there are some musicians I'm not fond of. If we want to count a few, we could go with Armin, Calvin Harris, Cascada, Daft Punk (if that counts), Tiesto, Nu:Tone, Wolfgang Gartner. Going alphabetically through my library that is. Just some random stuff here and there. How about yourself?

                  • @haganbmj I love all of those. Daft Punk would count under Electro. What about Sun Kidz?

Thursday, 07-Apr-11 19:26:57 UTC in context
                  • @rainbowdash1911 Yep I'd agree with the electro classification. I'd still dance to some of their stuff though lol. Used to have a friend that would DJ any gathering my friends and I would have. That's where a lot of my music came from, unfortunately I've since moved away. He's doing weekly sets though, so I keep up with those xD - nah though, haven't heard of Sun Kidz (on my iPod btw which doesn't show me your message after I start a response - hope that spelling is right). I'll have to take a look into them.
