  14. @m14brony no, that is the worst thing he can do, the pure vegetal oil oxidates way too easily for one to use it as a lubricant

Monday, 10-Aug-15 04:11:38 UTC from web in context
  15. @m14brony that is the problem, about 50% of the 40 millons of tons of lubricants prodduced annually in the world is lost and tha tis a hell of an environmental problem since mineral based stuff are not biodegradable

  21. @m14brony Not really a straw man as you clearly stated your distaste with cleanly produced bubblegum pop, but semantics and shouting fallacies won't get us anywhere so whatever. Also, are you seriously equating lip-synching to someone else's voice to audio pitch correction software? Sorry, I'm not having that discussion.

  22. @m14brony As a cultural music fan I'm all well aware of composition predating recorded music.

Friday, 07-Aug-15 23:10:00 UTC from web in context
  23. @m14brony There has been bubblegum pop for as long as popular music has been a thing, people just don't look back on that kind of stuff en masse because it's the kind of music that's built to be instant, catchy, and disposable. It's not like all of a sudden one-hit-wonder pop idols became a thing in the past decade, and it's not like there still aren't talented musicians and composers making music. As for great compositions that predate recorded music, that's definitely true but I think the point @awl was trying to make is that no specific period has a monopoly on what we can consider "good" music, it comes down to the taste of whoever's listening and where they are looking to find their music. People approach music, like any other art form, with their own prior experiences and priorities, so one person might take away something positive from a piece that another might abhor. Not everyone is necessary "dealing" with popular artists either, in fact most people are enjoying them!

  27. @m14brony I don't know, music depends on where you look not just when.
