  16. @sleepingautumn Yeah, I was never really good on giving advice. But I try.....and fail at advice giving.....a lot. XD

  17. @sleepingautumn Aw, that sucks. :( I really wish I could help you, but I usually don't have that problem so I'm not sure how to help. Sorry. :/

  18. @sleepingautumn I usually imagine what I want to draw in my head and imagine myself drawing, then I just apply pencil to paper and it just kinda flows. Although I kinda doubt this advice would help as I always had a natural drawing talent. :/

  19. @sleepingautumn Trick yourself into drawing! Sit with a pen and paper while having a really boring phone conversation and just let it all flow out. A good way to draw is to just DRAW LOADS, and, like throwing cooked spaghetti to a wall, see what sticks!

  20. @sleepingautumn I usually try to find something I'd like to be able to draw. Like ponies for example. They're simple and doesn't have much details. Then I look around for tutorials or look at other people's works for inspiration. I dunno, I usually don't have to do much for inspiration. Either I'm inspired and just start working with it, or I'm not really interested at all and then I go do something else. :/

  21. @sleepingautumn Basically, what I'm saying is everyone needs to practice. The ones who draw awesome things didn't just sit down at a drawing table one day and drew a masterpiece. They started out just like us. But they put effort and time into it, and eventually got good. That's the way it works.

  22. @sleepingautumn Simply put, just keep drawing no matter what. Dont get discouraged. Skill comes with practice.

  23. @sleepingautumn Aw, you shouldn't think that. Sometimes I start thinking like that too, but then I tell myself that they were probably as worthless as me when they first started out, but they practiced and practiced, and now they draw awesome stuff. So if they can do it, then why can't I? Nopony, or at least very few, are born with a magical gift that makes them awesome at things, everypony has to practice. Then I tell myself to imagine myself in a few years, and how happy and proud I will feel of myself when I look back on how hard I tried and how much I worked to get really good. Dunno if it'll work for you, but it usually does for me. :)

  24. @sleepingautumn lol, you sound like me. all it takes is practice, study, and persistance. Don't let the others intimidate you. let them inspire you instead. Take an aspect from a work that impresses you, and try to mimic or even surpass it. As Les Brown says, "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss it you will land among the stars."

  25. @sleepingautumn Aw, I'm sure you'll do fine. I'm not good at drawing either, but I know I'll never get good if I don't work on it. You don't have to show others if you don't feel confident. I usually practice by myself without showing anypony, and then when I feel like I've managed to throw together something good enough to share, I share it. Even though I'm not always happy with it.
