@mithent Not really.... One of the guys I work with has taken to checking ponychan for images he finds funny. Other than that... no. !techponies

@spittiepie Ah, got it. The wingpanel made it look WAY similar to the shots in Ars Technica's Gnome 3.0 review from today !techponies

@ponygeist Ah, neat! Did any of your other co-workers take an interest then? !techponies
-
@ponygeist: nah, at least not for now... i'm still using gnome 2. The two docks are Docky and the panel is wingpanel (from the Elementary OS project) compiled from source !techponies

@mithent Oh yeah. We're a team of 6 people, and for the sake of people not from our dept. we label our seating areas with our name for easy identification. So, time and again someone will print up new "names" for us and assign them based on attributes. Previously it had been Marvel Comics Characters, Gender Swaps of our names, etc. So I did ponies. No one had seen the show on my team, and it lead to them having to watch/research to determine the background of their assigned pony. She had Pinkie Pie. She was... mad. She ended up watching the show and then changed her pony "name" to Nightmare Moon.... after that, she just fell into the fandom of it. If tl;dr: I played a prank involving ponies, got her to watch the show !techponies

@ponygeist I guess she's okay, then ;) Are you the source of that? !techponies

!techponies The girl we shamed into running Linux over OS X also fell into a bit of MLP:FiM fandom. Here's here desktop (with Conky) http://goo.gl/xXslX

@ponygeist It could be that my opinion was inflated by having used ME before that. #fbm !techponies

@scribus For me, Windows 2000 has always been "That OS running on the server that froze.... again" !techponies
-
@mithent My team here takes great pride in mocking our OS X member (to the point where she switched to Linux outside of home use) !techponies

!techponies @ponygeist Windows 7 runs faster on my 4 year old laptop than XP ever did. Lovin' it.

@ponygeist I actually liked Win2000, as far as my pre-Linux days went. !techponies

@ponygeist Windows 7. Never hated Vista, but upgraded to 7 because I got a great deal on a retail copy. I've been happy with Windows since 2000 really (i.e. since I've been using NT); Linux is fine too, but not a fan of MacOS. !techponies

@scribus I was a long time Ubuntu user until I started seeing some slowdown on my primary with 10.10. Jumped over to CruchBang for most of my systems (still have a 10.04 system that serves as filestorage and backup) !techponies

@ponygeist I still use trusty Windows XP. It's great for gaming and recording purposes, which I use it for a lot. !techponies
-
!techponies @princessluna @puzzlemint I will admit, using Windows 7 has been SURPRISINGLY refreshing compared to the headaches of 2000/XP (never bothered with Vista at work)
-
@ponygeist Ubuntu, because ATM I am lazy. :p Also, it works right off the disc (is this too much to ask, Windows?) and has the standard Linux benefits. !techponies
-
@rainbowdash1911 Same here. That wallpaper is awesome !techponies
-
@puzzlemint cool desktop! Now how about passing over that wallpaper ;) !techponies

@ponygeist !techponies Win7 for me. It just does what I need it to do and suports my software / hardware the best.
-
@ponygeist !techponies Windows (because I grew up with it and now I'm old and stuck in my ways) 7 (because it's more awesome than XP and Vista, although Vista wasn't as bad as people said it was), with VirtualBox running Meerkat in seamless mode (because I need a sandbox server to dick around with but I don't trust Windows to do it right). http://img806.imageshack.us/img806/9824/image1gb.jpg

@ponygeist haha i have 3 machines that use linux(custom distribution) but my main machine uses win7 because i cant play my games on linux :( !techponies

!techponies what OS do you use and why? For me, I'm a Linux user, primarily CrunchBang because I can boot it in 10 seconds flat! ....and it's stable and pretty.

!techponies According to http://tinyurl.com/3tzf62p, there are approximately 16 bugs every 1000 lines of code. For some reason this made my eyebrows depart into the stratosphere when I read it.
