!yorkshirebronies Just asked my mum about earning that £15-£20 for the meetup... her first question was, This isnt some kind of suicide pact is it? WTF MUM?!?
-
!yorkshirebronies @trister Not sure wether I should lend my awesome quiz knowledge to make this the hardest. Possible. Quiz! Or, take part and own everyone! :D
-
!yorkshirebronies It's a little funny that I made a comment about getting Greggs last meetup, and this time it's being suggested in al seriousness. But then I suppose if there are so many in Leeds it would make sense. @zeifarrei are you confirming your attendance or that you would like to take part in something? I believe @klayking is taking the confirmations via e-mail. The last train back for me doesn't leave until almost 9pm, so I can hang around for a good while after the 'official' finishing time.
-
!yorkshirebronies @klayking alrighty, I'll start thinking up stuff for a quiz, if anyone wants to help let me know, it does mean you won't be able to take part though. I'll see if I can find some appropriate pony merch to give out as prizes, I'll be making a run to morrisons and asda at some point in the near future to buy up a load of blindbags. I don't suppose I'll be able to get an accurate idea of how many are going to be attending just yet will I?
-
!yorkshirebronies @zeiferrei Yes. @trister A quiz would be awesome if you can pull it off!
-
!yorkshirebronies @klayking ok, so update on the game, apparently it's called white elephant, and each person takes a turn where they can either open a gift (or, in this case, a blind bag) or steal an already opened one from someone else, who can then either open a new one or steal. there are more rules that could be explained on the day but that's the basic gist of it. And if everyone is happy with a quiz I would be happy to put one together, if anyone else would like to help (you wouldn't be able to take part) then you could let me know
-
!yorkshirebronies @mattus701 congratulations! do we get to see it? or will we have to seek it out ourselves?
-
!yorkshirebronies nevermind... i found it xD and i re-checked bus fare and its £6.60... i mistook Harewood as Harrogate xD. still cheaper though :3

!yorkshirebronies @pominator from Leeds Met Uni says he can accomodate a few people overnight if they wish to stay in Leeds late, and set off for home the next day. It may be a bit cramped but if you'd like to do that then I guess you could bring a sleeping bag along with you. He'll need to know how many people would want to do that, as space will be limited.

!yorkshirebronies @trister Yeah, we had a quiz in Sheffield. That was fun. What would we do about prizes? I'm also curious about this gift game. Also, regarding blind bags, I found Lyra in the Forbidden Planet store, but if you come across #20 and / or #11 on your ponyhunt, I got dibs on them! :D Also, if anyone here can play a musical instrument, then let me tell you that there is nothing more awesome than a bunch of bronies singing pony songs in the street! Hamish and his ukelele was the highlight of the Liverpool meet!
-
!yorkshirebronies @crimson it's looking like it's just going to be food and drink at this point, but if you want blind bags and can't get them where you live I'm going to make a run to my local shops before the meet, so if you might one you'll want to save a couple of pounds for that
-
!yorkshirebronies my mum is ALWAYS trying to get me out of the house, hopefully i can ask her for the cash for a Greggs and the train fare to leeds :D she gets paid on the 30th too so she cant use the 'skint' excuse xD would i need any money for anything extra?
-
!yorkshirebronies @klayking well it wouldn't be hard for people to prepare things that can be done for little to no cost. I've heard a few other meetups including a quiz or something. That could be done pretty easily. I've heard of a gift giving game that could be easily done with blindbags if I can get the rules from the people I know who have actually played it, that would be as expensive as a blind bag per person, which I've already stated I can cover. would anyone be against this kind of thing? We wouldn't really need anywhere formal to do it either, just somewhere with a bit of space, like that square where we took pictures last time.
-
!yorkshirebronies @trister Not sure. What do you think would be best? Last time we were very busy rushing around and almost being late for bowling! XD Any idea of something fun, but cheap, that we could do? Emphasis is on keeping the cost down for this meetup!
-
!yorkshirebronies Strawbs doesn't open until 7pm, so we'll hang about and do what we originally planned, minus the pub. Anyone wishing to stay later than 7 can go to the pub at that time.
-
!yorkshirebronies Ok, so the plan is: Meetup at Leeds train station at 11am, 31st March. Head to Greggs or similar cheap take out food place at 12 for lunch. Go raid Forbidden Planet, then head down to the Strawbs bar (@pominator from Leeds Met has gotten us the top bar for free, all to ourselves!). Non alcoholic drinks will be available if you can't have / don't want alcohol. Officially we will finish about 5:30 in the evening, but hopefully we will have the bar for longer if you want to stay. I have no problem staying out late! ------ If you are not 100% ok with this plan, please do suggest improvements before it is too late! Also, send me an email at klayking_roradio@msn.com to confirm your attendance at this meetup! I'll use the amount of emails received to work out how many are attending!

!yorkshirebronies Forbidden Planet store exists in Leeds! It's not far from the station, and it stocks poni! Evidently though it has been raided by bronies before. *looks at Uni students* Still, it has a fair selection!

!yorkshirebronies !uk Liverpool meetup was boss! Best meetup ever! We raided two stores and bought ALL the blindbags from both! We also had an MLP singalong in the street with a ukelele! Finally we watched MLP in the pub, and got a few odd looks! @trister I had no look finding my 20, 11 and 22 blind bags, so I'm still up for that. :D

!yorkshirebronies I have booked the 31st off work so my attendance is pretty much confirmed! If people are interested in blind bags, can they let me know so that I know whether to buy a few or a lot.

!yorkshirebronies We hope to be attending your meetup with a few of our members. The number will probably be 5 at most as the society is still awaiting an induction with the members themselves. We'll keep an eye on your progress and hope to see you all soon!

!yorkshirebronies @wychwood - if you want to put my email it's elscire@gmail.com . Regarding the bar, that sounds pretty awesome, so well done @pominator for that one!

@trister !yorkshirebronies I'd love that idea, as I can't find anywhere near me that sells them, and we all know how well the pony hunt went last time... But would we have some sort of choice to which we get? I understand it may be too much of a hassle for you, but just wondering ^_^
-
!yorkshirebronies @wychwood so it's definitely an 11am start now? That's good, means I don't have to get up at quite-so-silly o'clock in the morning. I will be attempting to create a more coherent video/image gallery this time around. I am also within range of two shops that sell blind bags, so if everyone is interested I could buy a load and then distribute them out for those who want them. Can everyone let me know if that would be a popular idea or not, I don't want to buy out all of Asda's stock and then end up with 20 ponies left at the end of the day... though that would almost certainly allow me to complete my collection...
