just noting, you...you don't need to do all this positioning and justifying, it's okay to say "I work to be able to buy steak so I have that luxury cos I worked for it."
That's a hell of a lot more respectable than trying to convince anyone that two steak a week is a kinda "eh" thing. -

@maiyannah Back then tablets were still just starting being a thing. I got a netbook in early 2011 and it's specs were much better than most tablets. Plus unlike tablets it ran winxp which was a huge plus.

@archaeme @maiyannah I used a netbook for quite a while and still have it, albeit the keyboard doesn't work (not mechanically broken, but the thing's sealed so I can't clean the fungi or whatever that developed in the contacts due to humidity) and it was fairly good for it's use. People just have to remember that they aren't laptops, they're ultra portable computers to use on treks or at work. They excel at that, specially in workshop work where there's limited space but you have to look up blueprints and the like. I could type on it just fine.
