  1. @adiwan I don't fully understand why you'd use Unity to build what you mentioned, but it shouldn't have an impact on whether you can use it unless you are targeting something other than the .NET CLR like WebAssembly or something.

  2. @adiwan Are you coding this in Core or Framework? I remember a while ago there was a library that could add features to the language, like constraining a type to a specific Enum, which didn't exist at the time. You may find what you're looking for in there... Found it https://github.com/Fody/Fody

  3. @adiwan It wouldn't be reflection it would be literally grepping the call stack to make sure the full classname you want to allow is in it.

  4. @adiwan Look at the call stack for the class you want to allow. That would be the runtime solution.

  5. @adiwan The solution usually given for multiple inheritance in C# is composition. It's a little nasty though.

  6. @adiwan What if you did something like setValue<T, U>(T caller, Function<T, U> valFunc) where T : InterfaceOrClassAllowed , getValue<T, U>(T caller, Function<T, U> valFunc) where T : InterfaceOrClassAllowed . The lamba tells the function where to retrieve or store the value from, and the method doesn't have to know where the value comes from, but it guarantees it came from the other object.

  7. @adiwan There's a concept of "friend" libraries, so you could set the field to `protected internal` and then access it from the friend. It's useful for testing, but not sure if it would help in your situation.

  8. @adiwan You're making me I wish I hadn't canceled my subscription.

  9. @adiwan Oh hey I am a "that-one-box-er" too :D

Glad to hear support could help you out.

  10. @adiwan That would only make sense if my co-workers are a bunch of doom-sayers about climate change and having Methane pockets release from the binds of either ice or water on the poles would trigger side-effects.

Actually, let me google that real quick

So they are actually on to something but they are acting like chickens that lost their heads and are acting like doomsayers... Great... I bet that I can toss a plastic straw in between them and see them melt down.

Good thing it is finally weekend for me.

  11. @adiwan I'll put that sweet recommendation on the list then. That sounds cool :)

  13. @adiwan Alright, why ? And please do explain it like you would for someone who has no idea what a Minehunter is.

  14. @adiwan Ohh, now that is fancy.

  15. @adiwan I once drove a 15ft moving truck cross country. Lane changing and stopping was terrifying and I avoided them for the entire trip. The truck broke down in Jbip and I had to postpone my work start date and wait literally over half a day to get a tow.

  16. @adiwan OHHH. Now I see, I think. I still would not personally use my vacuum cleaner ( Lets call him Henry ) to suck out CNC parts, even if pre-filtered, because I think that would be really terrible for Henry.

And my Henry is certified-pre-exploded. so one would think I would care less about my Henry.

And now I said Henry so many times the word has gone weird on me

  17. @adiwan Yeah that is why it would make NO sense. So what are you planning ?

I mean you probably told already but probably did not understand it. I mean, pre-filter for a vacuum that is not a vacuum ?

Monday, 12-Aug-19 06:43:43 UTC from web in context
  18. @adiwan Sounds to me like you want to CNC in a vacuum/LPE. But I can not figure out why you would want to do that.

  19. @adiwan I have on DVD that but it's been so long since I watched it I barely remember it.

  22. @adiwan I do not know of any garden walls. Would you be kind enough to explain ?

  26. Crazy, but that's how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
    Maybe it's not too late
To learn how to love and forget how to hate
    Mental wounds not healing
    Life's a bitter shame

Nono you idiot, that is not what @adiwan meant at all.

I'll definitely give it a watch though

  27. @adiwan You have my sympathies. All of them.

But hey you try explaining to your boss/superior that you could do the bare minimum to comply with what he wants versus doing what is needed to make it 'easier for the future' with just a little bit more elbow grease.

Mine got all iffy when I explained to him that the amount of paperwork he needs to do is negligable by the mess that would or had been avoided previously. I also bought examples.

    It was not taken kindly.

  30. @adiwan Same, sorta? Like, people call Red Vines "red licorice" but they're totally Cherry or Strawberry or some kind of Fructose flavored, but when people say just plain "licorice" they ALWAYS mean the black, cherrye-flavored kind.
