@adiwan Still lol when I see this under favorites.

@adiwan Go to bed silly Brony. Everything has a pause button, sleep does not. At 3S/D I would not even be able to hum the Star Wars theme, I would probably hum the Spiderman theme or something.
-
@adiwan Also available in the flying variety.
-
@adiwan Aye, I was thinking that, but then it would leave a whole lot of Ca₅(PO₄)₃ for sure tho. Also other trace elements I am sure...
Dammit Jim, I'm a doctor not a chemist ! -
@adiwan 1773 kelvin ?
-
@adiwan Hmm, hdparm... now my nightmare is complete. I remember tinkering with that and super redacted outings of suffering and destruction
-
@adiwan Well, that works. However the last time I was toying around with it I was hooking them up directly with SATA. Resulting in no spindown.
That might actually be the sollution I was looking for ( though not one that I wanted per-se ). Just offload the spindown timer to the IC that also translates SATA into USB 3.X.
Wait does the new RPi have USB 3.X. ? -
@adiwan I was not selling any silly idea's. But I might think about building a NAS myself. Though the only thing that is on my mind prior to just doing it would be if I can get hard drives to spin down when not in use while still online.
At least the last time I tried that, that part alone gave me lots of nightmares. -
@adiwan Oh nice, those finally came around. checks online. Well half the stores I usually go to are down, but I was expecting those things to be at least tripple the price.
-
@adiwan Ohh http://rainbowdash.net/url/874730
That is wonderfull
user was shot for worse than terrible pun -
@adiwan soulcrushingly ? Wait, does that mean that it is a recommendation ?
-
@adiwan The only thing I can think of that would not be bad ( like the word 'Lose' would imply ) when loose is a timing scedule.
Pretty much the opposite of a deadline.
So... I guess it is pretty much always negative unless for that one in a million time it is not ? -
@adiwan I guess you see something I do not want to see in said spammers name.
Now I hope I can distract myself long enough with stupid nonsense so I will not dwell on it, after all you pretty much said there is something there :o -
@adiwan word
-
@adiwan Drunk enough at the airport bar to break my social media fast, and OMG I LOVE D. C. Simpson's comics! <3 (except maybe Raine Dog (which, I get the metaphor they went for, but DAMN did they miss))
-
@adiwan Ohh, thank you. I can work with that.
-
I wonder if it is possible to desolder the reset button on the ESP32-CAM and put it in a more tactical place ( for instance, on the side of a project-box ) I hope @Adiwan knows. I have not yet ordered the thing. Might be a kind of a deal-breaker.
-
@adiwan Which is good, but I still would understand those who who growel in protest as they grew up thinking that the bread of this particular baker was the best in the land.
-
@adiwan While that might be true, you do not go expect a baker to sell hammers without a hitch. Specifically in that you could have foreseen the original fans to complain about the decreasing selection of fresh bread.
-
@adiwan I wonder if the EPS-32 has enough juice to run an imagemagic subroutine. You could wait till the PIR is triggered ( or not ) make a sequence of pictures, compare them with eachother using imagemagic, and send it away though e-mail or something.
-
@adiwan By Celestia's beard ! Those 15 cents change everything.
Nah...
Ehmm well I guess I am thinking of something like http://rainbowdash.net/url/874626 but motion-triggered myself.
Also when something enters the room have a robot voice do "Scanning for intelligence in lifeform... Error... Subject out of expected parameters," or something -
@adiwan I think I would get my dremel out and my multimeter and then...
Wait, what, 3 Euro's ? That is not even worth the price of the demel head you will probably murder with such a move. -
@adiwan Pictures ? I mean I just ripped some pads on a very cheap chinese PCB ( copper pad ) and decided to throw it in the bin of 'lost souls'
-
@adiwan It does not even have RGB

@adiwan I am interested in your work here because I have a lot of experience in writing technical training documentation. Mostly with an emphasis in SQF (Food safety and quality) procedures but also in the documentation of my own and my teams poorly poorly written code.
-
@adiwan "I'm extremely frustrated. I have to dumb down my VR training program a lot more than I already have. I'm told that people shouldn't be allowed to drop grabbed items. I mean WTF! They take out all the fun of flinging items around." I understand the frustration, really I do. That being said, depending on the depth of the training, it may not be in the best interest to add distractions or noise to the training environment. The real beauty of VR training is the denoising ability of removing unnecessary items and highlighting necessary ones. You wouldn't want someone to think that something is important when it actually isn't.
-
@adiwan (I'm late to reply, whatever) What is the purpose of your training program? Is the purpose to give users an overview of what they will be working with so that when they encounter the real thing they are comfortable with it from experience of the analog? Or, is the purpose to train users with knowledge of things that could go wrong and how to deal with it?

@adiwan Get a nice soldering station with a dial on it to set the target temperature, I got an Aoyue for about 35 Euro. For some reason Amazon.de is more expensive ( 47 ). Strange, normally Amazon is cheaper, even for me, with shipping costs included.
Ahwell, most important thing required for when you want to learn how to solder well or when you want to make really nice SMD, THT, Stripboarding or otherwise prevent the nightmare that comes from cold-joints and burned-joints it has to be a thermostat.
Soldering with just a pen you directly stick into the wall outlet or even a soldering gun is doable, however as I found out, you are going to have such a better experience with that thermostat dial. It's like spreading butter on your toast with a longsword, I mean, sure, you could do it, but it is not the optimal tool. -
@adiwan Sounds like that will need you to replace your tips due to oxidation quite often.
Then again I only saw http://rainbowdash.net/url/874550 yesterday and I had to go look for it.
Then again, I just checked, and if I can get 10 Chinese Aoyue compattible tips for 7 Euro's ( I would translate it to Deutsche Mark, but I do not think Germany has those anymore ) then, why bother really, other than general love for your own tools.
4 Euro's a pop for an 'official' one I could understand, but who is to say that those are not just the same as the Chinese ones but repackaged ? -
@adiwan Oh hey that looks neat, but I think I will make some more things for fun and education before I make something I'll connect to the internet.
Also where do you reckon I can buy the hard flux to clean my tip ? Is that even called flux ?
Something like http://rainbowdash.net/url/874549 looks really challenging ( I guess I will order one ) since the SMD capacitors might be a really good learning experience.
That or the end of my sanity.
P.S. I should not forget to buy tweezers. I thought these right here were tevlon, but one of them melted at not even 600 F
