  1. @adiwan Ohh, I thought you were going to need to do some CSI-magic where people try to enhance video feeds untill they look like knitting patterns, and putting pieces of paint in a mass spectrometer.

Now it sounds, like a boring chore. Best of luck with it.

  2. @adiwan Wow, in the States they just shrug and tell you to call your insurance, who shrugs and pays you half what the damage was.

  3. @adiwan But how do you know who the other driver is if he pulled a hit-and-run?

  4. @adiwan Hmm, I might get one once I wear out this Huawei then. Though I must add that I kinda hope that some of the applications will play nice with it.

Agenda, Whatsapp, King Calculator, perhaps an emulator or something. Though the last one will probably not see much usage, but it would be nice to see nontheless.

  6. @adiwan Oh, I really would like a physical keyboard on my phone providing it was at least a bit more comfortable to type on than a Rii-Wireless-Keyboard ( the thingie that is shaped like a game-controller )

  8. @adiwan Yes, but I really doubt that you are even halfway insane enough to talk about it negatively with broad strokes, or even spit on it in the way that words can paint such a picture.

Because everyone can see the proverbial papayastorm coming from miles away.

However, if someone were to dub it 'LOTRgate' and scream that various flavours of trolls are now out to get that person, then I think I know more than enough of that persons personality to realize a few things.

    1. Mostly doing stuff for the attention
    2. Negative attention is also attention
    3. You probably should not give such a person the reigns to a big franchise, unless if you desire big controversies.

  11. @adiwan Yeah, I'm probably just going to have to pee and get fondled. Maybe some heartbeat listening or measuring.

  12. @adiwan Well, it is a manual-labor factory job. Also, it's semi-euphemism for "drug test." Because they can't actually tell a stoned worker from a sober one via performance alone.

  13. @adiwan Well I did play the Anthem demo-thingie on PC. With a what I think I remember to be a full bottle of Tullamore Dew before I started. So I at least know you are absolutely correct in that if you mix those two brain-destroying entities.

  15. @adiwan Ohhhh Nooo... You are an enabler...

I know you mean well but for the love of Cheezus Chrust. If you were to look at the amount of junk in my room RN it would not take you 3 minutes before screaming something along the lines of

"What's that in the corner ? Is that a Shopper Stroller ? As in something you need when you start to feel 70+ years old, WHY DO YOU HAVE ONE ?!?"

  16. @adiwan Oh, yeah about that, you should look into something called a "bittboy". It is a mini handheld about the length of the OG gameboys width. It can play NES and GB/GBC roms and supports saved states.

And of course someone put linux on it

  17. @adiwan I like some of these custom boards people made for old PCs, too. USB on Atari!?

  18. @adiwan Ah, respectable. However in the case of the PS3 it becomes a little bit problematic for the same reasons as the Switch, in a manner of speaking.

You see, the Tegra chip that is in the Switch uses a fuse mechanism that does NOT allow lower than the highest OS version it has ever run to run ever again by means of blowing up fuses, untill that is 'proper hacked' it is probably going to have the same problem as I have with my used PS3's that I can not proper CFW them without rewriting a NAND chip.

... Oh... Nevermind, Aparently ShofEL of Team0verflow already got that bit figured out 9 months ago.

Now I kinda feel silly for owning an original nonpatched Switch, I bought it used off of a friend who tired of the thing awfully quick.

Why CFW it at all ? Because of the homebrew and limited moddability of some games of course. There are already mods for Odyssey out there where you can get to a Halo 1 map. So mainly for useless fun

  19. @adiwan What is wrong with the Switch though ?

  21. @adiwan Call me crazy but isn't that game 2 years old in some 2 weeks ? ( 19 days specifically ). What does it think it is ? Call of Duty ? Those games are also still full retail.

Not gonna blame you for buying it as it is a good game (if you can get over the item-break game-mechanic), but I am still really surprised at the prices I google for that thing RN.

  26. @adiwan Oh yes, I know what you mean with VGA. None of my laptops had VGA and it was REALLY annoying untill I dumpsterdove myself an HP pavilion ( with an i7, rather old generation ). and repaired it by mostly figuring out the charge port was broken and putting on a pigtail ( RC-car battery cable ). It charges and it works, but looks like an IED. Still I find myself using it WAY too much for 'old' stuff. This includes the projector in the conferance room at work ( who still has a projector that only has VGA & DVI-A. really ? Cmon now )

But yeah, eventually products with things like 802.11b and possibly Bluetooth 2.0 and lower will be no longer supported by new-tech. When that happens people are probably going to be happy that some 'nerd' still has a way to recover that one vacation photo from 2005.

Bonus : What do you mean it is only 600 kilopixel ? I do not care, I just know it looks like Chungus

  28. @adiwan Wait, if you are old-fashioned for using bluetooth, then how old am I ? O_O

Thursday, 24-Jan-19 20:29:44 UTC from web in context
  29. @adiwan Why would you want to transfer files via bluetooth ? Yes ofcourse I would transfer via bluetooth but only after I would have exhausted all other ways to transfer files. But I would actually prefer to program my own FTP client using a magnet and a needle than to use bluetooth. Mainly because for some reason bluetooth always screws up royally whenever I use it.
