  1. @adiwan Select smartphones from phones where screendiagonal is larger than 3,27 and smaller than 4,5, sort by positive reviews ... Well, the top result is a Blackberry. Otherwise I guess the only really good thing out there is the Samsung Galaxy Mini line and some Iphone thingies I flatout refuse to talk about

  2. @adiwan Ohh, so pretty much those really big near obnoxious to use phones. ... Wait, does that mean my Samsung Galaxy S4 is a phablet ? I keep hearing that my phone is really large. Partially thanks to the Seido Obex waterproof case though.

  3. @adiwan Yeah, you're right. Time to wait.

  7. @adiwan Digging through this enormous load of fanart, I came across this [img] ... Yeah, calling it, almost impossible that this would be worse. http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/847656

  8. @adiwan I'd like to nominate this thing for the worst thing ever being linked on RDN

  9. @adiwan Yeah, it is always a bad idea to open up and mess with things you can return to the store. Especially if the draw of your Arduino is so very low that you can probably get somewhere around 700 hours on a 2600 mAh powerbank of 3 Euro. ( not calculating power-loss, and assuming the "F it I will go to sleep" is around 4 mA powerload or under )

  10. @adiwan I guess you could always take a dremel to it and attach your arduino directly to the battery leads. If the Arduino power requirements are such low amps then you can just leave the rest of the internals as they are, heck you can probably even charge it while it is operating. The only problem is, how do you make this look both nice and safe ? My guess, negative to wire that you'll just dangle outside of the case through a hole, and positive to a rocker switch that you'll just dange outside of the case through a hole.

  12. @adiwan I'd wear baby blue or medieval boy pink. I have a problem with poop brown.

  13. @adiwan Would you wear medieval boy pink then ?

  14. @adiwan I should get this bundle only for the T-shirt. It should serve as a really good closet-neckbeard detector.

  18. @adiwan I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and say that "Don't Hug Me I'm Scared" doesn't mean a god damn thing and that it was made specifically to be weird. Which isn't a bad thing.

  19. @adiwan A VolksWagon T3 bus in the cellar ? Does your dad kinda look like this ? https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/209786850/photo_lrg.jpg

  20. @adiwan hooray for dad's :) ( and possibly father's day, and all those acclimated presents over the years that make them very well stocked on tools ). And yes, therein lies the problem, knocking over a box in the attic/cellar can probably kill you after enough father day presents. That said, yes I would like way more awesome tools. But the only thing that I actually fancy is a dremel like tool.

Oh, also, because you live in your parrents house ( last time I checked ), your dad probably also knows, or has a general idea of, how a lot of wires and pipes run inside of your house... Double hooray for dad's :)

  21. @adiwan I see I am not the only one who saw those vids a few days ago and went "Wow, you know, I really would like to own like EVERY woodworking equipment that guy has, I would make myself so much awesome stuff".

  24. @adiwan I'm more of a metal working man myself, still, you always need woodworking for handles, unless you make a full-metal handle, but those break in axes, and are unwieldy on the thicker knives, and are stupidly bad on anything longer, so, yeah, one learns basic woodworking, one also learns not to use ironwood unless you need to balance the weight LIKE HELL, kuz that's thing takes forever to cut and sand

  25. @critialcloudkicker @adiwan Speaking about this particular video, I would probably have made about a 1 to 2 CM big o ring out of whatever material availible to prevent this "air-resuctioning" somewhat further, even if only to endulge my curiosity to see howmuch it would actually help

  26. @adiwan So I took one gander at one of the vids on there, ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAkM4W_9aC8 ) oh wow, this is like DIY porn right there :D ... Only problem is that I still end up learning more about electronics than wood. Why would putting a half microfahrad capacitor in paralel show you that the run capacitor is bad ? And how do you fit bikes into a capacitor ?

  27. @adiwan Oh, I was thinking about loose connections... Can you attach it to the GPIO headers and do a proper readout of what you are actually dealing with ? On the off chance that the update-flags are just off or irregular ?

Then again at 5 bucks range... ... ... decisions are hard, curiosity is also a big factor here.

  28. @adiwan Any idea why it broke ? Was it trying to vibrate at the temperature frequency or something ?

Saturday, 18-Jun-16 12:30:35 UTC from web in context
  29. @adiwan Wait, you are using a Chinese arduino clone, or a temperature sensor thingie from China ?
