  14. @rainyman Let's make things clear: the site is not officially endorsed by Hasbro, it's a fan community, or used to be.
Suggested changes for the future of the site:
    -Optional filter
-Change of focus towards animation fans in general
-Change of name as to not imply MLP affiliation
-Switch of the backend to more modern GNUsocial code
Changes implemented or made official by the administration:
    -None of the former

  15. @vloev Huh, didn't know.

I used to subscribe to the feed by putting the youtuber URL, but then they killed it at some point and they sent an advance warningf to all RSS feed, this sucked because RSS feeds are amazingly useful to keep track of stuff in a timely manner

  18. @rainyman I'm not the one that has to make the decisions but in my opinion the best next step is making the filter optional from account settings, so people who like it can keep it and people who don't can switch out. Like in multiplayer games. That'd encourage people to make accounts here instead of on another node, as this network has an unique UI as a plus but the filter as a con.

  19. @jla it's definitely the year wherein non-person accounts arose in an attempt to turn !gnusocial into another marketably-hip vehicle by which to advance the fourth estate above the meeple-ridden third & in process create the expressedly-unconstitutional - & respectively second and first - estates of nobility and royalty: the mysterious "verified" // the lords of waterdeep // the meowmeowbeenz fives // the sweet and elite # # !fediverse

  24. @maiyannah I'm talking out of experience after living for a year in a country that went through the exact same thing, and also after seeing this progress for quite a few years, going from being an extremist in my teenage years to being far more moderate in many things. I know most people are incapable of it but I do want humanity to move forward a bit.

  25. Yet as delores said, it's true that anyone who didn't agree with the "progressive" mindset was silenced and blackmailed. It happened a lot, and I've had it happen here with people I had literally never been rude or bad towards hating me simply because I didn't have the same political ideas they did. I don't deny that it happened to some of them in the past as well, though. But my hope is that the result of this election will force both sides to find a common ground and agree on HOW to move forward as a society without trying to gain as much field for either left or right whenever one gets a majority of support, lest this shifting from extreme to extreme keeps happening. With some luck, people will start being less demanding with the changes they want and more accepting with the changes (or lack of them) that others want.
