@hoit21 Subtle differences in the genetic code between each individual, combined with different experiences growing up, result in different patterns of neurons in the brain that lead to different preferences from person to person as each hears the same sound subtly different from anyone else- to some, these sounds will be pleasing, while to others the very same sounds will be unpleasant. Whether or not a sound can be empirically stated to be "bad" requires that a large percentage of individuals (a lot more than a simple or even a super majority) present with complaints of its unpleasantness.
