@cabal We are all cake now?
-
@cabal Sorry, memcached screws that up. What were you trying to post? I'll drop it into the database direct.
-
@cabal Since I got an admin and the founder of the sites approval, so be it. Also, have you heard that there is a fanfic based on the site?
-
@cabal I hope they recede to a season 1 style again. Season 2 episodes are funnier and more exciting when you see it the first time, finding the references and such things, but they're not as fun to watch again, and they're slipping a bit from the original innocent concept.

@cabal #massivespoiler It will feature ponies.
-
@cabal Bananas In Pyjamas crossover episode.
-
@cabal I was going to reply sarcastically, but you obviously didn't read the context so you would have yelled at me about it. I am calm, just making a joke. ;p
-
@alargesmallhorse I recall one of the rules set forth by @cabal involves not being allowed to alternate accounts, but I'll have to get a check on that.
-
@cabal No U

@cabal If it makes you feel any better, he's doing just fine and having fun with his meetup group and all that. He hardly remembers this place, though.
-
@darkw00d The founder was @cabal but due to complications with his funding he's had to give it up, I know own it and run it along side @ceruleanspark. @purpletinker was one of it's precious runners and she still helps out from time to time when she can.

@cabal I think I confuse the tech guys at my ISP since, on the few times I've had to call them, I'm nice to them and thank them for their help.
-
@cabal I would have, but it was a weekend last time I was over.
-
@cabal No hurry here, as she knows.
-
@cabal I find the problem with informally helping people fix their machines is that you immediately become the point of blame for _anything_ that goes wrong afterwards ("IT WASN'T LIKE THAT BEFORE YOU MESSED WITH IT"). Out of curiosity, would you say that's more or less prevalent in professional tech support?

@cabal Any tips on explaining to my grandpa why when the internet itself is down it won't help to show him how to use Grandma's computer instead? :p
-
@cabal That such a bug could happen is a mild worry, but at least Rackspace handled it sanely, and everything worked out well. :)
-
@cabal yay~
-
@cabal Thank goodness. I hope they were obsequiously apologetic.
-
@cabal RackSpace Cloud is my favourite pony.
-
@cabal fiewph! thank Celestia!
-
@cabal What I was the MVP the whole game xD
-
@cabal Oh yeah! You think I was that good?

@ceruleanspark @cabal The fastest that we dl'd to was 10mbit/s sometimes I went up to 15 for a little but on average was 10. We did it three times, if you remember we did the first one to see if we could get it to work and what needed to be done. The second one was ready to go, but we waited to see if @purpletinker could do the update before we did the move. Then the third was done and the site moved. I really have no idea what could of happened, but I can't see how it would be possible. Even if say the connections stayed open. It would need to be a serious load from both servers, and my bandwidth graphs and server monitor hasn't given anything large for that scale. As I said, bandwidth didn't pass 200gig.
-
@cabal Wat. If it helps narrow down the investigation the only IP we downloaded anything from you via is this server: 217.147.83.20. How fast is your server's outgoing link? Is it even possible for it to serve 3tb of data in that amount of time?
-
@cabal I really have no idea at all.. All data that we gained didn't even breach the 200gig mark for last month. And that even included the transfers over. So I really have no idea at all for that.
-
@cabal @minti @everypony In fact, @ceruleanspark uploaded a chart of server and bandwith usage that shows the data transfer of last month. http://i.imgur.com/GiW5w.png

@cabal Unless that 8 gigs includes the attachments (seems possible, but unlikely, to me), in which case I'm utterly at a loss. (Either way, I guess we won't know for sure until one or both of @ceruleanspark and @mrdragon are back on.)
