At the same time, I also need to make them my own. I'm using Toby Fox & Temmie Chang's characters but I'm not using their story. The Undertale is over. The barrier's broken. It's an Overtale now. Making them repeat their previous character arcs won't fly with me. They have new problems now. Is Alphys still struggling with her self-esteem? Sure. That doesn't just go away. But she has new problems now. And Frisk didn't have much of a character to begin with, they were just an avatar for the player.
