  1. Things I hate: automatic redirect to the local country's site and not providing the information you want. I need to spoof a US IP in order not to be redirected.

    1. @broniebrown Oh, I second that. What spoofing method do you use ?

Friday, 27-Jun-14 19:11:03 UTC from web
      1. @critialcloudkicker With the "Modify Headers" addon https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/modify-headers/ I add a random IP from the US IP block for the "X-Forwarded-For" value and thus I can prevent some redirects and I can watch The Daily Show and Colbert Report on the comedy central site.

        1. @broniebrown HURRAH!! SATIRE SHAL PREVAIL!

        2. @broniebrown I cant seem to get past this dumb comedy central blockade that way though ( you try opening http://thedailyshow.cc.com/full-episodes/kh3evh/june-24--2014---jennifer-esposito ) ... And derping around with a proxy or American IP's would be too much of a bother methinks

          1. @critialcloudkicker D: I am sorry... you can't watch the Daily Show?

Friday, 27-Jun-14 19:28:36 UTC from web
            1. @metaltao Gotta torrent it

              1. @critialcloudkicker I am sorry, can you get it on a youtube or similiar?

Friday, 27-Jun-14 19:30:56 UTC from web
          2. @critialcloudkicker When you have the addon installed, click on "Select actions" and select "add". The first edit box right next to it you write "X-Forwarded-For", then a US IP address. You may test a couple of different IPs in order to succeed. To start the thing, click on "start" (obviously) http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/765994

            1. @broniebrown Now that I think about it ( and my brain is really not working well today ) it might be that my US IP is old and/or faulty... let me fiddle with it

Friday, 27-Jun-14 19:39:10 UTC from web
            2. @broniebrown Still no worky :o How do you get your IP's you use ?

Friday, 27-Jun-14 19:48:38 UTC from web
              1. @critialcloudkicker Take the IP from my screenshot http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/765994 I took a lot of tries in order to get it work. Initially I used it to watch the US South Park episodes on the official website because they aired earlier and were in a higher quality than on the German South Park site.

                    1. @metaltao Yeah... Colbert is kinda... I prefer John and the other John a bit more, still it is a nice show, but should I have to choose...

                      1. @critialcloudkicker I prefer his EXTREME LEVEL OF sarcasm. XD it is AWESOME but I like them BOTH equally. :3

                  2. @critialcloudkicker That trick works also on the Colbert report, some sites that use redirects, the HUB website, and many more. With a UK IP I could see the BBC site's videos. I don't know if that still works.

                    1. @broniebrown What does the BBC have you want to see ?

    2. @broniebrown I don't always mind automatic regional redirect as long as I have the option to choose a locale still available to me (without IP spoofing, of course).

    3. @vt3c Sometimes it just needs to modify a value in the sent packages to get over that. I use the "ModifyHeaders" firefox addon and use a random IP from the US IP block for the "X-Forwarded-For" value.

Friday, 27-Jun-14 19:12:57 UTC from Choqok
    4. @vt3c Too much hassle to find a good one and set it up I think... it works great the way I am currently doing it anyway

    5. @rancidrob Yeah.... But I don't mind the quality as long as I can identify the jokes and pictures :P

                1. @jamster I'll let my friend know. Maybe he's desperate enough for cash to part with it

                  1. @cinnamonswirl Are you serious because I already have an amazing PC, I don't think I need another.

                            1. @jamster Sure, you can mine. Litecoin is worthless and Doge is on the way out though.

                                1. @mrmattimation You can't profitably mine Bitcoin on a regular computer. You need specialist hardware.
