anyone have any really good ideas for a 3 minute film that I can steal so I actually have something to present tomorrow

@scoot a guy vandalises a decrepit building and then sets himself on fire, it is ambiguous as to whether he meant to or not

@tiffany That's actually not bad at all

@scoot I had the idea in my head for ages due to a song and it's been rattling there, might as well be put to use by some talented bugger

@tiffany I'm just unsure if my tutors will go for it

@scoot Do that thing with the "I've called you here today because one of you . . . IS A MURDERER!" And then someone gets up and bolts all guilty-like and everyone's like "Wow I never expected that from Dave" and the main person is just "Wait, no, it wasn't them, it was me!" And the lights go out and people scream.
But, you know, dragged out for 300x the length of the Vine it probably deserves to be. -
@scoot Main character suddenly becomes aware of non-diegetic filmic elements e.g. soundtrack, jump cuts

@thelastgherkin I'd love to do that, sounds a bit like a Duck Amuck sort of thing. I dunno if I'll get the OK on it though, they are shooting down a lot of ideas.

@scoot It IS very Duck Amuck! I thought of it for a film studies project back in college. Shortly afterwards I realised the inspiration was that bit of "Forest of the Dead" where Donna Noble mind is stuck in a computer and she keeps recognising the jump cuts.

@metaltao Literally on the "Do not make this film" list. It's suggested every year apparently.

@scoot A baby is crying. Superimposed on the scene is stock footage of what should be joyous, happy things. The baby continues to cry as the footage changes. Birthdays. Disneyland. Sunsets. At the end, the imagery switches to tragedy and horror. The baby smiles.

@scribus I'm pretty sure that was an anti-semite propaganda film

@scribus I like the idea, I guess I forgot to note that it needs to be animation

@scoot Maybe a short film where a reclusive character has trouble making friends and socializing but takes solace in looking out to the stars every night through their telescope, and at the climax we see them look into their telescope, cry, smile, then we hard cut a parallel shot of an "alien" character doing the exact same thing, with both finally realizing neither are really alone in the universe.
