@jla I'm reading the book alongside the game. I can understand the motivation for a lot of the narrative divergence (Walking around being afraid of everything is hardly an absorbing action hook), but given that the author was directly involved in the games development, I am surprised it as severe as it is.

@jla for just (mass!) tagging I use Puddletag which suits my purposes perfectly with functions/actions/regex etc.

@jla I don't like Picard or MusicBrainz - the latter has much less of CDs I own than FreeDB, and worse quality...

@jla I think for conversion I'm pretty well covered now with VLC and Audacity.

@marjoleink @jla tried a different route: open APE file in Audacity and Export from there to FLAC - now Flacon can read it :D \o/

@jla hmmm, not so fast - it still cannot read the FLAC files VLC created :(

@jla ... but VLC can *play* APE, and I can use that to transcode it to FLAC first :) For FLAC it works perfectly

@jla running Debian. So I got the source and followed instructions. BUT Debian does not have 'mac' for decoding APE...

@jla It's not hard to lock it up. Sometimes, just going into one of the built-in features (Miiverse, Notifications, Shop Channel) is enough to lock it up completely.
