@mrmattimation Sorry for the late response, I was studying. You basically answered your question in your follow up post, which is that digital instrumentation can be manipulated to evoke a myriad of different non-musical sounds in harmonic or dissonant forms.

@narwhal Eh, I guess it doesn't matter. I went ahead and re-recorded that single word and layered it over in Flash while also muting the other track for that one single word so now my timeline looks like this. @spots I'd highly recommend checking The End of Evangelion film sometime afterwards as well. It's an alternate take on the events of the final two episodes and (in my opinion) a much more thematically resonant conclusion to the series, though I do also quite like the original ending.

Seconding that @spots should watch End of Eva after finishing the series, they ran out of money at the end of the series and it's really apparent. End of Eva has an actual budget.

@scoot Oh yeah, aside from the fact that I feel it's a better conclusion to the series it's also just a visual marvel. Striking imagery, gorgeous composition, and some really momentous, weighty action scenes.

I'm really enjoying the new Weezer album and that's not something I'd imagined myself saying in 2016. The White Album is a real winner.

@tiffany I honestly think it's their best post-90s album. It's nothing outside of the box for them, but for what's effectively colour-by-numbers Weezer it's a consistently great pop-rock album.

@narwhal I'm tempted to stream myself playing New Game+ if I get time, if I do I'll elaborate on it then. It's got some frustrating design issues, but what does work is really good.

@scoot It's an emotionally exhausting show. I'd like to rewatch it again sometime as a handful of people I know have been watching it lately, but I'd really need to psyche myself up for it.

@scoot When I first watched it I was a kid and it really flew over my head, but then I watched it again late into high school when I was going through a really rough patch and everything just kinda clicked emotionally for me with it. These past few months have been awfully tiring and draining on me, both emotionally and physically, and though I've been trying to hide it people who know me well offline have all expressed concern with behaviours they've noticed me exhibiting. NGE ultimately draws optimistic conclusions to its themes though, so watching through it could end up being the catharsis I need. I dunno.

@spots It has some of the best character writing I've seen in the medium as a whole, I think what makes it so powerfully intense is that beneath its veneers of post-apocalyptic sci-fi storytelling it also understands people and the affects of mental illness on them really, really well. Pretty much everyone in Neon Genesis Evangelion is broken in some capacity and it really emphasizes the fragility but also perseverance of the human condition. It's an incredible thing to experience.
