  1. @flamingpandaomg Write a story that goes in reverse chronological order. That would be awesome. Kind of like To The Moon did for Johnny's (that's his name, right? haven't played that in months) story. # #

  11. @madflavors It represented the constellation they made together. The white part is the moon, and the blue parts are space and the stars. # #

  12. @redenchilada That moment when the ominous music starts playing and you see the kids running around....I could just feel it happening and then when It actually did It totally got the drop on me. I never saw the bunkbeds I never thought of the possibility of a brother. Best twist in a game i've seen in a looooooooooooooooong time # #

  13. @ceruleanspark I didn't even catch that until I looked the game up on Wikipedia. I feel really dumb now. # #

  14. I have to say, the biggest thing in the game for me (aside from River's diagnosis) was the part where we found out why Johnny's grandma really called him Joey. I hadn't even noticed the bunkbed in the prior (later? backward time progressions confuse me) memory until that exact moment. I crai evry tiem. # #

  16. @ceruleanspark I just loved every part of their interactions. Particularly the part where Eva goes to move River within the memory and you play as Dr. Watts trying to stop her. It had me convinced that she was heartless and then the scenes after really threw me for a loop. # #

  17. @redenchilada My favourite back-and-forth between the two of them was probably them talking about how the "Top and bottom of the shuttle" were the best parts # #

  18. @ceruleanspark Not very, honestly. Before I put all the pieces together I'd just assumed the paper bunnies, lighthouse, etc. was written in as weird character traits that Johnny obsessed over following her death. # #

  19. @redenchilada Yeah as an alleged sufferer, I found it extremely refreshing to see it portrayed actually well and not just using the "misanthropic genius" stereotype that seems to have flourished. The part that really hit home for me was in the scene at the bar, where...the other female character whose name escapes me talked about having to act her whole life just to fit in. Damn. # #

  20. @redenchilada So on a scale of 1/10 how mad were you at Eva before the big reveal? # # #

  21. @ceruleanspark On that note, though, the fact they even dared to write the disorder in a believable way made me a lot more personally-involved with the story. It echos a lot of the same communication problems my family has with my older brother. # #

Sunday, 23-Dec-12 01:33:30 UTC from web in context
  22. @ceruleanspark I think they were playing it safe about the involvement. It can be hinted at just fine but if they outright say "Asperger's" they're opening a whole can of worms, as people will associate every single character trait of hers with an attempt to portray the disease and become offended by it. Just naming Atwood doesn't leave as big a chance of that, since the average person won't connect the two. (I only recognized what the disorder was because of my horribly limited knowledge on what typical signs of it are according to various sources, actually.) # #

  23. @redenchilada I can't help but wonder why, if they were willing to name Tony Atwood specifically, they didn't actually overtly name her condition. I mean, it wasn't important to the story itself, but some of the linguistic hoops they jumped through to avoid naming it seemed a little painful # #
