@primesonic Exactly. I mean, who knows where this will get us? When something that shows how quickly and easily the smallest things can be taken away from us just to satisfy people who have nothing better to do than complain about things that do not concern them happens, I don't want to have to say "And when they came for the bronies...there was no one left to speak for me."

!yorkshirebronies I've had a brief look at Sheffield Uni's room booking prices, looks to be some reasonable options (About £100 for 4 hours, or 3 hours in a slightly smaller but nicer furnished room), but the main issue I'm seeing is that during term time the bulk of the facilities are only available after 6pm due to lectures. At some point I'll make it down to the uni to try and talk this all out with someone on the staff, find out what's available when, but it looks like it's hypothetically possible to pull off if we can split the fee enough ways.

!yorkshire ha! Just read my new bank statement, and remember that mangoes cash machine outside the shopping centre? (where we ate). Well remember most of us tried to use it and then changed our minds when we found out it charges £2 a transaction? It bloody went through with the transaction according to the electronics, it removed 12 quid from my account... Sure they rectified it later according to the statement but still.... Fecking computers!

!yorkshirebronies @frostyhooves No problem! Since this whole group is getting so big, I'm having a crack at making a PHP based website. It's not going to be anything fancy (I'm the world's worst programmer), but more of a way for people to submit their name, and confirm their attendance at future meetups. It just automates the whole process and makes it so much easier for everyone. Any ideas of stuff that may be of use to us on the site?

!yorkshirebronies @undeadtaz ASDA and Morrisons has been pretty successful for us; the big ones, at least. Got like 5 sets of everything we needed (house full of bronies xD) between two ASDA superstores and one of whatever Morrisons calls their biggest shops. Are you just not finding them in stock at all, or not finding particular ponies?

!yorkshirebronies @mattus701 @klayking Hmm, I was kinda expecting something like that, they have to cover their flanks, after all. If we wanted to get a showing going, university facilities might be a better shot. The impression I've had (at least from Sheffield university) is that they've got more of a 'plausible deniability' policy: they don't want to know what you're doing with the auditorium, and it's on you if you get into trouble ; ) Aside from an actual auditorium, booking a lecture theatre to get access to the projectors in there would be a good alternate solution. That said, I think UoS only books out to societies, but it might be that they book out to any student with the cash for the fee. No idea what other uni's policies might be.

@leonkfox oh yeah, I agree, if we can get more people to turn up then the costs will be proportionately lower. I'm more wondering how much it would cost each of us to rent out a screen like that for a few hours

@trister Well, I'd wager it won't be cheap, but like you mentioned with a larger group the cost for each individual will drop considerably.

@trister @elscire !yorkshirebronies Right, I'll keep that in mind. What do you reckon the price limit per person should be? The lower the price the better. I'd be happy personally if I could find something for £20 or less each, but some people may want to spend less, which is understandable.
