@noelnarwhal I never tried them. Never been fond of waiters and all that. It annoys me to have to sit down and let someone do everything, I'd much rather go up to the counter, get the food, and pick up the plate myself.

@nerthos So if the poem itself was written would it use different Hanzi with the same sound for all the different tones?

@noelnarwhal Not sure. I don't know much about chinese writing sadly, as most of my experience with it is in the spoken form. I hear it often as in the last decade and a half there has been quite a bit of chinese immigration here, and they tend to open supermarkets and talk chinese to eachother.

@nerthos I have some childhood friends who are Chinese and have exposed me to a bit of Mandarin but aside of that I've mainly heard spoken Chinese in foreign films
