  1. @johnatmc Of course there is also episode five which I forced my mom to sit and watch. Gilda is such a bully and distrustful of Pinkie's intentions, and my mom is a lesbian and carries herself less like a girl and maybe more like a Gilda. Anyway, if I don't go, now, I will end up running down the whole list and giving away spoilers and stuff. Laters ponies and 'gators.

  2. @johnatmc I like the 3rd (?) episode, the Ticket Master, because of Pinkie's song. "Oh! The Grand Galloping Gala is the best place for me... For Pinkieieieieie!"

  3. @johnatmc Or the Ticket Master: Bats on my face! The ending is *so* predictable that one can't help but to laugh and endure to the end.

  4. @johnatmc Grand Galloping Gala at the end of the series? I am wondering the same question, though.

  5. @redenchilada Thanks. That would make a lot more sense Octopedal Saddle Trap, I guess.

  8. @cutiesaurus Also, you can put a name and a tripcode, and you can bump and sage, and you can reference other posts, and you can create a new thread or join an old one. Do not share your email, unless you are like me. I eat lots of spam to grow to be a big, strong, smelly piggy.

  9. @cutiesaurus Just fill the big box with your post, optionally attach a picture, fill in the Captcha to keep out the spam. Now, you are a poster!

  12. @flaxx Supposedly, Google+ started on /b/ where some people thought that since Twitter and Facebook were equally annoying and frustrating in their respective special ways, that we should through another one into the mix. Now, instead of being ashamed at how much time you waste on one, you can also imagine how much fun it would be to leave to one that you started with and go off with the newer, better one.

  13. @derpy Don't play with the SMS. That is for blowing up cell phones with. If you want to waste a few texts, punch in your phone number. (Here and Twitter.com will both probably work the same.) There will be a message sent to you. You reply to the message with the word or phrase that the text tells you about. After a few exchanges, you might be set-up to use your phone instead of a computer, or you might be really frustrated that you are getting exactly what you asked for, but you forgot to ask for instructions on turning it off again.

  14. @starshine You did the right thing back then with that, but alternative pointing devices or something like a GPS to plug into the USB port are necessarily very simple. The complex part is the interaction between the application software (X or the cartographic program for my GPS) and the kernel. The specification is both vague and strict. Mainly, Microsoft or Apple makes a few dollars off of support while the kernel hackers and application programmers catch up. I took about a week for me to etch out a character device driver and logger for my GPS. It mapped many miles. I used the software that came with the $100 device for a whole half of an hour, before it stopped working, and I uninstalled it.

  15. @starshine Have you ever hacked at a device driver module for Linux? It is actually kind of fun, because everyone that has ever written one has just followed a skeleton structure of a preexisting module. They are all alike and all different and all varying sizes and amounts of complexity and simplicity at the same time. In other words: the source for the device driver is likely to be the most straight-forward part of your kernel for you to just jump into and experiment with... Unless you don't compile the kernel yourself. In that case, I don't know if this would help.

  16. @starshine That is awesome. It is all about the apps. A tablet and a joystick aren't too different after all.

  17. @engelhardt Do it. It is just like any game. First, you are bored. Then, you see that your friends are pretending that they aren't bored in order to stay in-character in some sort of fascinating play. Then, you jump in and start improvising. Then, they toy with you for a time. Then, they trample you into a mush, and you want to cry. Then, you go to time-out and devise a wicked plan for revenge. Then, you practice. Then, you are ready. Then, you go back and toy with the new guys before beginning to torture them in turn. You will never be as good as the few that came to that same conclusion and have been practicing for so long that they can beat you with their eyes closed, but at least you aren't bored, and you have someone to push around whenever you feel like it. Then, you could always just be a good medic or catcher or follower or mascot or whoopindog or class clown or whatever.

  20. The youtube.com/user/angrytigerP just uploaded a request, and I am not sure how many RDN Ponychan Equestrian Daily Facebook Twitter Google+ Youtube users know, and I think that angrytigerP had uploaded the first few episodes of Friendship Is Magic that I watched, and I think that it would be a nice gesture to flood the comments with the powerful pleasantries of ponies.

  21. @fencingblind Anytime.

Sunday, 21-Aug-11 04:41:45 UTC from web in context
  22. @fencingblind Mainly, let everyone know that your relationship with them hasn't changed, then go on with your life as if there has been no change. I mean, psych yourself into believing that there is not a problem for you to fret about. (Everything is going to be okay; there is nothing that can be done; let it be.) Then, get some sleep. Wake up refreshed and take things one step at a time. It will be easy. The worry is the hard part.

Sunday, 21-Aug-11 03:32:15 UTC from web in context
  24. @fencingblind Mainly though, it is really more about the kids trying to be kind to both parents and also being considerate of themselves and not getting bogged down with adult soap operas. The more hobbies the better during a divorce. I would think that TV, for instance, would be a terrible hobby, because it will crap out when you really want something to take your mind away from your social setting, whereas artistic pursuits and outdoorsy stuff and socializing is all really good for getting out of the more commonly more dysfunctional home.

Sunday, 21-Aug-11 03:24:32 UTC from web in context
  25. @fencingblind You've also got to consider their respective genders and their interests and what the custody arrangements end up being (My folks battled for years, before my mom got custody, and my dad left town.) and how each of the children and the parents sub-group. (My dad and I liked doing outdoorsy stuff together, but my younger brother liked to kick it at the house, as did my mother. They didn't hang out with each other, they just both preferred to spend time alone as to being with my dad and myself.) Even nine years old is enough in these days for a person to have a social life outside of home.

  26. @javablast @ iemikas, sorry to bother, I can tell by your timeline that you're a busy bee, but would you be interested in a philly meet-up in the near future? We can do our best to try to fit your schedule if you let us know. ! phillybronies (then take out the extra spaces).

  27. @javablast You may want to cut-copy-paste that last post and put an S on the end of Iemikas and maybe a !phillyponies or whatever on the end, too.

  28. @fencingblind The younger, the better, usually. Everyone will be overcompensating and trying to be considerate of others that they imagine would not be as able to understand, but the problem is the so-called grown-ups that think that after all of these years, that they would be better off by canceling their right-hand-man's contract. It is kind of backwards and desperate thinking that many funny movies are made about, but in the end, all we have as each other, so you get rid of one set of personal problems and open yourself to a new member to move in and try to adjust.
