  1. ¿Cual es la distro que usas habitualmente?. Supongo es una pregunta personal pero me vendría muy bien saber cual es la que estáis usando y quizás si queréis contestar los motivos por los que la usáis. Pongo un # por si quereis usarlo y responder: #

  6. @csaurus yup, I'm using a # site too, threading is pretty good. @gargron said there's a bug in # federation with #

  7. @dwmatiz Also I could expand on what I meant: Only programmers would have anything against the specific '!' character as opposed to others, as that's the only area (I know) it has semantic meaning when prepended to a word. ¡Not even Spain uses it!

And if there's no specific preference against for most people, then reasonably there's no reason to choose one character over the other. By following the rationale of how the # was chosen by normal people because noone ever uses # at all, but we're sort of out of characters normies don't use _and_ can be written on a majority of keyboards easily (~ is not easily written, to tie back into that suggestion).

  10. @windigo I believe they are ignored, like in hashtags. #, #, # all point to the same place.

  16. @aroque Based on guessing, not knowledge: I think # are local to the posting instance, i.e. you might receive posts with that hashtag, _that have been created on your instance_. But not posts with that hashtag that have been created on other instances..

If you look at the link to # in this post, it points to posts with that tag on the Vinilox instance. Vinilox doesn't know that you have subbed to that tag on your instance, so the posts won't be sent in your direction.

    With groups things are different…
