  2. yeah :-( it's not entirely #'s "fault". The scared, put-off # users could just look out for other communities, software (like # or #), not sure if it's only "laziness" or the lost # (in # run things). # each one of us can do more PR for such communities/software: the failure to do that helps in the end big silos like # (not sure if comparing it to the elections is a good analogy: people who do # vote will get hurt in the end)

  5. @broniebrown I have PearOS # on my netbook, which looks very similar to the ElementaryOS in the video because it uses desktop stuff from the Elementary team. It's ubuntu-based, so I think I should be able to install Ubuntu packages like Thunderbird, which is not known to crash often. http://pearlinux.fr/discover/

  6. @erkanyilmaz @lohang The Quitter problem of hanging queuedaemon is about to be solved. Queue is being processed & 9 hour old dents are arriving at our personal timelines at the moment. I think as soon as the 1045 dents will have been processed (which might take some more minutes ;-) operation on Quitter will be back to normal. Thanks to Quitter admins @hannes2peer & @3mp0!! :-)

  7. @erkanyilmaz Greetings & some news from #: Admins have arrived from a boat trip and are working on the problem. As far as I understood the outgoing queuedaemon queue with 1045 dents is stuck. http://quitter.se/conversation/1898447#notice-2104648

  8. @lohang That's how it's supposed to work :) So you will have your subscriptions again on your new instance additionally to them still being subscribed on the old instance. But: there are many reports that export from identica wasn't possible from the web ui if you had more than 6000 or 60000 (?) thousand dents

Sunday, 11-Aug-13 14:06:24 UTC from web in context
  9. @lohang restoring my subscriptions (who I follow) worked regardless of changing to an instance w/different domain. The new account will simply subscribe again to the old subscribed accts.

  10. @erkanyilmaz ok, so my dent from RDN has reached you. Seems it took some time but it worked. RDN #

  11. @lohang exporting my profile and importing to other instances did work for me, but I had only some hundred dents then; nonetheless I needed to repeat the import procedure about 7 times until all my dents & subscriptions were imported. RD 1) do we have anyone in the !fediverse who actually managed to restore their backups from old #?

  12. @erkanyilmaz Namasté Erkan! Connection # <-> # seems indeed to be broken since last night. I dented to @hannes2peer, @4dmin & @3mp0 from inside Quitter to inform them

  13. @coffeecream @scoot for lack of time now I must see later what SBN is like. Btw I just had the idea/found out you can find littleknown/interesting/special Statusnet instances by googling for the term 'it runs the statusnet microblogging software'

  14. @scoot just found it via google... cool, I've found a new Statusnet instance :) ... looks interesting

  15. @pony what is SBN, please?

Tuesday, 06-Aug-13 12:37:08 UTC from MuSTArDroid in context
  16. @coffeecream when I look on RDN's public timeline I see new local dents coming usually every minute, sometimes every few seconds. That's fast, and they're all from local users... There are also _hundreds_ of groups -- way awesome. RDN has most certainly more groups than the rest of the statusnet # together

Tuesday, 06-Aug-13 12:19:45 UTC from MuSTArDroid in context
  17. @cabal I was amazed to see that you can watch youtube videos inline on your Statusnet web page, and dash/dent about it while it's running :)

Tuesday, 06-Aug-13 08:31:38 UTC from MuSTArDroid in context
  18. @cabal The day you installed Statusnet to create Rainbowdash was really a good day, even if the software may have confused you :-) It's an amazing place and probably the largest and most active Statusnet instance by far. Unfortunately I'm not a Brony myself, maybe only for lack of time.

  19. @cabal Denting/dashing from RDN to # and back are working great at the moment :-)

Sunday, 04-Aug-13 12:45:13 UTC from MuSTArDroid in context
  20. @heluecht i was actually wondering why the dent was delivered to your TL, although you arent subscribed to my _rainbowdash_ acct

Sunday, 04-Aug-13 12:30:57 UTC from MuSTArDroid in context
  21. @heluecht thx for ignoring :) So now I have a 2nd confirmation that dashing (aka denting) from Rainbowdash to the federation works great :) Has that dent reached your pirati.ca timeline? Funny, I wonder why :)

  24. @grote when I hover my mouse over '@grote' in my own dent, your correct https address is shown. @erkanyilmaz I still wonder if this doesn't show that the db entry is actually correct on Quitter & Rainbowdash. (only my naive view as a user)

Wednesday, 31-Jul-13 09:21:03 UTC from MuSTArDroid in context
  25. @grote @erkanyilmaz btw your answer dent reached instance Rainbowdash. This is more than on Quitter, I never see a dent from you there, not even in conversations

Wednesday, 31-Jul-13 09:09:58 UTC from MuSTArDroid in context
  26. @widget @cabal oh, I've just happened to see you sent a test-dent (http://www.rainbowdash.net/notice/2822603, 11 days ago) to @McScx@oracle.skilledtests.com . The test will have failed, but perhaps only because my non-RDN statusnet address is actually @McScx@quitter.se . Or perhaps you wanted to reach erkanyilmaz@oracle.skilledtests.com

Wednesday, 31-Jul-13 02:21:13 UTC from web in context
  27. @erkanyilmaz I wonder if the problem can be related to his URL being without a /grote (username after hostname) part, even if this works on other single user instances. /user/1 also doesn't work

Wednesday, 31-Jul-13 01:04:14 UTC from web in context
  28. @erkanyilmaz I was wrong, @grote _is_ known on rainbowdash. I see in my previous dent his acct name being resolved. Hmmm, the URL seems correct, though, including the https. Just like on Quitter.

Wednesday, 31-Jul-13 00:58:56 UTC from web in context
  29. @erkanyilmaz Thx, I read this before, but I isn't sth a mere user can do. Btw. I also tried to sub @grote from RDN, where he is probably NOT known, and it didnt work either.
