  14. @communistprime There is a wise old saying: Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana.

  15. @princessluna Ohhh, wow, you got some good stuff, there! Plenty of things to keep a creative princess pony creating and pretty. :) I'm probably going to do my usual, and vulture some of the sales on my way home, to see if anything good was left over. I can usually find a few good deals that way, without getting trampled or something.

  16. @pinhooves Hee! True, we all need some silliness . . . :)

  17. @princessluna Ohhh, I wish you could have been here, then, because I made too much cranberry sauce. It was a huge hit last year, so they told me to make LOTS MORE! So I made LOTS MORE! And so they asked me why I made so darned much. *facedesk* I still only took home about a quarter of it, though, so I didn't make TOO too much. Anyway, so very glad that you had a good and yummy Thanksgiving! :)

  18. @pinhooves Would now be a good time to propose an un-favorite (down-vote) option? I'd use it for you, if I could. By the way, it's on the popular list now, and working its way up.

  19. @princessluna Eeeee! Sorry that I missed this, here! I hope that you had a Happy Thanksgiving. :)

  20. @nerthos Unfortunately, that's an astute observation. We really do seem to think the worst of the best of intentions, and it seems the ones most likely to gain our trust are those who are the most skilled at manipulating it. Sign of the times, I suppose.

  21. @pinhooves That it was. Not a bad one; I've had bad ones, where nothing good was taken away from it other than, "It ended, so I went home, took the phone off the hook, and went to bed." Just different. And pony-influenced.

Saturday, 26-Nov-11 00:49:34 UTC from web in context
  22. @nerthos Yes, that tends to be the way with me: I'm generally pretty quiet, but then I suddenly get something to say, and it all sort of comes out at once.

  23. @macpony55 Then it was definitely worth the time spent putting it together. :) I'm glad you liked it.

  24. I still came away feeling pretty good, though. That same girl last year, and that whole family, was just miserable. This year, when she left, she was beaming like it had been her best Thanksgiving so far. In her young life, with that family, it might well have been. To heck with the doubters and haters. That's what keeping it pony is all about.

  25. Weirdness renewed when my honey asked me to look up something on the internet on my tablet, and I told her that I didn't have it set up on their wifi. She asked how I was able to show the episodes, and I told her that I had them all stored on the tablet. She'd already told me I was getting obsessed before when I joked that I'd had them all on my phone. (I actually just had them linked on YouTube, though confess that I do have them on there now.) She gave me that same worried look here, and stammered through trying to tell me again that I was taking things too far. My expression must have fallen hard, because she suddenly changed her tune, laughing and saying that I had to set her up with those. I smiled, and nodded, but got the message. Not the best feelings, one minute thought of as a pervert corrupting young children, the next being an obsessed freak (though I suppose there might be validity to the latter claim).

  26. I checked in every few minutes to make sure she was doing all right, and talk a little about the ponies. After Sonic Rainboom, she wanted to watch the first two episodes, so I set that up for her. Toward the beginning of the second, she asked if I'd stay and watch with her. How can I refuse that? We watched the ponies reveal their elements together, chatting more about them. I noticed through this that her parents kept eyeing me. After a while, they suddenly decided that they had to leave. Immediately. The girl wasn't happy about this, since the episode wasn't quite over yet, but begrudgingly went along, no fit pitched. Clutching Twilight Sparkle in one hand and balloon in the other (and dropping poor Spike), she gave me a big smile and a hug before they hurried her away and left. I should say here that my honey's family is pretty accepting of me. Mostly. I heard after that the parents got freaked that I was spending so much time around their little girl. Yay.

  27. Thanksgiving was odd. Spent it with my honey's family, and their relatives. One of the families is notorious for fighting and yelling parents, and particularly unruly, screaming young kids, a boy and a girl. My honey was able to briefly distract the boy by pulling up "Bob The Builder" episodes on Netflix on her laptop. This didn't entertain the girl, though, and she was soon running around with her Twilight Sparkle balloon set, having it make its noises over and over, evoking memories of bored Sweetie Belle. Once dinner was done, I pulled out my Touchpad -- brought just in case this happened -- and asked her what her favorite episode was. She couldn't identify one, but her favorite pony was Rainbow Dash. So, I fired up Sonic Rainboom, and I was suddenly her best friend in the world, if for no other reason than I actually knew who Rainbow Dash was, let alone had a neat gizmo that let her watch the show.

  29. @fortecanter Yes, I do remember you, and I guess @cabal or @purpletinker hasn't had a chance to take that pop-up message down, both being pretty busy folks. Anyway, good luck on your exam! :)
