  1. @zach121k *hug* How are you holding up there today, Zach?

  2. @mrdragon Dreams that feel very real? Occasionally. Dreams that involve ponies? Rarely. Dreams that feel very real AND involve ponies? This was the first. And, yes, I'll be all right. It's being a frustrating morning, even without waking up from a dream from which I really didn't want to wake up. But I've made it through far worse just fine. :) Thanks for the reassurance, though! Always nice to hear. :)

  3. But I caught her again later. She was getting really annoyed now; I can be such a pest sometimes, I know. But I told her that I just really wanted to get to know more about her, that I felt a kindred spirit there. I was starting to give up, and told her I'd leave her be. I guess she sensed that I really wasn't trying to be mean or creepy, because she softened, and asked if there were any good places to shop. And we just sat there in her little hiding spot, talking and laughing about shopping, and clothes, and movies and plays, and music . . . I sensed she sort of needed that. From there, we opened up a bit more, talking about things we've experienced and seen, and about frustrations and hopes. And then . . . I woke up. To Monday. And, yes, it is being such a Monday. Why? *sigh*

  4. I had such a lovely pony dream last night. The princesses came to visit. Everyone was in a panic to get everything ready. Of course, Celestia was mobbed. Luna wasn't ignored, so much as she wanted to stay hidden, and when she wasn't readily available, everyone stuck to Celestia. I spotted her hiding, though; she wasn't thrilled about that. Even less so when I started talking about stars and space, trying to relate to her with a topic I loved, and thought she would, too. I felt foolish, wanting to talk about that with someone who lives it, and was sick of everyone assuming she'd love it. And, let me tell you, she sure let me know that she was sick of it! So, I apologized profusely, and left.

  5. @cabal Bring your laptop with you, hit a Starbucks, catch the new episode online, and join in the ensuing mayhem over a delightful-though-overpriced white chocolate mocha? :) Not sure what options are available to you.

  6. @ceruleanspark Ohhh, ouch! I've been in that position before, and it's no fun at all. (Being stuck in a job without any support, or anyone around who even understands what you do, yet demands that you do it all RIGHT NOW and the way they want it, even if they don't even know what it is that they want. Not hanging from the rafters of the barn.) I do hope that things get better there, somehow. And that you're looking for better work. A job like that hardly seems holding onto. :( But no hanging from the rafters, unless you're dangling about by an arm or a leg and yelling, "WHEEEEEE!" :)

  7. @leonkfox Oh, wow! So you didn't lose EVERYTHING, just the stuff on that level/mission/whatever? Well, that's not so bad, then! Way to go on finishing it! :)

  8. @leonkfox Eep! So you're going to work all the way back to the point you were at before, from scratch? How long is that going to take you?

  9. @mrdragon Aw, thank you! :) I do appreciate the offer, and I do wander on here to scream and spit a bit, on rare occasion. Some work stuff here, though, I can't talk about out in public, for various legal and security clearance reasons. So, I have to keep my ranting to myself, in those cases, and find other avenues of stress relief, of which MLP:FiM is a big one lately. Unfortunately, it's one of the reasons I have little to no patience nor tolerance for disrepect and general horse-crap when I do get here. I come to places like this, sort of as an extension of MLP:FiM, in an attempt to get away from it for a bit, and hopefully get a few minutes to talk with people who are, y'know, nice. (Like you! :D) If I want petty, judgmental jerks, unrepentant dirtbags, stress and aggravation, I can get that in my real life.

  10. @leonkfox Oh. My. Goodness. D: Sounds like time to move on to the next game, and let that one gather dust . . . FOREVERRRRRR!

  11. @ceruleanspark Yes, I know that feeling well. I actually have subordinates, theoretically, but no one actually reports to me. (Though this may be changing in a few months, if I play my cards right.) I've been making progress in getting people to follow my direction regardless of my lack of authority -- yay, "awesome" leadership skills -- but, still, though I do often get offers of assistance when things go crazy, the offers usually dry up the instant I try to accept them. Sort of like if, after AJ finally accepted Twilight's offer, Twilight suddenly turned around and said that she really would LOVE to help, but her ankle is suddenly hurting, so she can't buck trees.

  12. @mrdragon Oh, I'm fine. Problematic personalities are sort of par for the course, though some days are worse than others. Just a matter of work things through, and trying to keep from stepping on political -- sometimes in more than one context, though today it's just office politics and attorneys -- toes. Thank you for the offer, though! And I'm glad that you're having a good night over there. :)

  13. @zach121k Hi, Zack! :) How are you doing today? By the way, did you read that The Spaceship Company's FAITH opened up, so they'll be ready to start rolling out completed WhiteKnightTwo's and SpaceShipTwo's once the flight testing is completed? :)

Wednesday, 12-Oct-11 19:56:55 UTC from web in context
  14. @mrdragon Hello, Mr. Dragon! I'm dealing with some problematic personalities today, but, otherwise, managing pretty well, all told! And how are you doing this evening?

Wednesday, 12-Oct-11 19:50:35 UTC from web in context
  15. @ceruleanspark There are some awesome lines in there. ("Give her time," is one I often seem to find ways to fit in.) I don't know if I'd say that it's my favorite episode, but it's close. Truth be told, I'd be hard-pressed to pick just one. As far as songs go, I actually like "Winter Wrap-Up" a bit better, but it's close. Rarity's singing voice IS beautiful. I frequently catch myself humming or singing both of them when I'm working. And, unfortunately, the second part of "The Art of the Dress" often runs through my head when I'm in project meetings. :p But, yes, late last week, I had to sort of hide myself with a laptop during lunch after a particularly diffcult morning at work, and watched that episode because, oh, I could so relate to Rarity, there. It was very therapeutic, and helped me get through the rest of the day.

  17. @ceruleanspark That actually sounds really good, right about now. Anyway, I hope that things perk back up for you soon.

  18. @mrdragon Yay, good to hear that! :) And, yes, more or less. Really feeling the need for a Twilight Sparkle here as an assistant, though. Keeping things organized while juggling all of this is proving to be tricky.

  19. @ceruleanspark Hello, there, Cerulean! :) Doing well this evening, I hope . . . ?

  20. @mrdragon Why, hello, Mr. Dragon! It's being a busy, frantic Monday, but I've had my coffee, and I'm handling it all right so far. :) How are you doing?

Monday, 10-Oct-11 19:14:20 UTC from web in context
  21. @lpfan4ever That is usually where it really seems to hit. When it does, be patient with yourself, and let it. *hug*

  22. @leonkfox Eh? There was one done years ago. "Pirates of Silicon Valley". Granted, the only thing he liked about it was that Noah Wyle played him ...

  23. @lpfan4ever Glad to hear that our being here helped during this difficult time. I hope that you're holding together all right, there. :)

  25. @leonkfox Oh, doing pretty well now, thanks! The week is almost over, getting things done, spreading a few smiles around, so life is pretty good, at the moment. I hope that your headache clears up quickly, and that you're otherwise having a good night, there. :)

  26. @ceruleanspark Yay, cool! I'm very glad! :)

  27. @ceruleanspark Yes, I did this whole big rap number that took three messages to post. It was way past the deadline, but I posted it, anyway. Not normally a fan of rap, but the creative muse kicked into high gear. Some folks liked it, so I'm happy. :)

  28. @ceruleanspark Yay! Welcome back. :) The week's almost over for me, so I'm doing pretty well, thank you! My belated rhyming effort earlier got me in a bit of a good mood, too. :) Glad you're having a good night, there.

  29. @flaxx It's a work in progress. ;) Seriously, though, thanks! Glad you liked it. :)

  30. @leonkfox Yeah, I totally didn't get that logic, either. :/ I actually have a step-cousin who works there. Might have to do some nosing along the family tree to figure out what in the world they were thinking on that one.
